Warner Bros. Animation continues to pump out movie straight to DVD DC Comics movies, and today it's been announced that they are developing Justice League Doom which will be inspired by Mark Waid's Tower of Babel storyline.
The story finds Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg and Batman on their heels when a team of super villains discover and implement the Dark Knight’s “contingency plans” for stopping any rogue Justice League member. The film stars the voice talent of Nathan Fillion, Kevin Conroy, Michael Rosenbaum and Tim Daly.
The DC comics animated movie are hit and miss for me. Some I like other I hate. The most recently film I saw was Batmas: Year One, and even though the animation was good, I didn't care for how it was brought to life. The direction was off, especially with the voice acting.

DC: The New Frontier… Stripp’d
0. Looking Back in order to Move Forward
One of the more interesting developments in superhero comics has been the growing popularity of comics that take familiar characters and transplant them into unfamiliar historical contexts. Though this type of postmodern speculative exercise has been around in one form or another since the Silver Age, the current vogue has its roots in Brian Augustyn and Mike Mignola’s Gotham by Gaslight (1989), an ‘elseworld’ that took Batman and reinvented him as a steampunk vigilante battling Jack the Ripper in a turn of the Century Gotham City. Other attempts at historical re-potting include Superman’s reinvention as a Soviet tyrant in Mark Millar’s Superman: Red Son (2003) and Neil Gaiman’s Marvel 1602 (2003), which transplanted the entire Marvel universe to Elizabethan England.
As Gaiman’s comic ably demonstrates, these sorts of comic generally balance on a knife-edge between genuine insight and embarrassing self-indulgence. »

Chicago – After a few releases that felt like perhaps the DC Universe line of straight-to-video animated films were in decline, they recently released what is arguably their best installment and a work that deserves to sit on the shelf of any Batman fan — the often-brilliant “Batman: Year One.” So remarkably loyal to one of the most influential comic books of all time that it sometimes recreates it verbatim and including some of the best voice work in the entire DC Universe line, this is a great animated film and possibly the best Blu-ray gift you could buy for a comic fan this season.
Blu-Ray Rating: 4.5/5.0
Everyone should read Frank Miller’s stunning and incredibly influential book but this adaptation reminds one why that was such an important story in the DC Universe. The grit that you love from Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, even the look and feel of the »

Now, thanks to the folks at IGN we have the first trailer which premiered at New York Comic Con over the weekend. Check it out below!

A third clip from the animated film Batman: Year One has arrived online. I saw this at Comic-Con and was not initially blown away. It might have been because the screening was a later screening after a long day. The more I watch of these clips, the more I like it. I am still not in love with the film, but it is decent.
Batman: Year One is based on the landmark 1987 DC Comics titles from 12-time Eisner Award winner Frank Miller and illustrator David Mazzucchelli. The film depicts young Bruce Wayne’s return to Gotham City in his first attempts to fight injustice as a costumed vigilante. The playboy billionaire chooses the guise of a giant bat to combat crime, creates an early bond with a young Lieutenant James Gordon (who is already battling corruption from inside the police department), inadvertently plays a role in the birth of Catwoman, »

Warner Bros. has released a second new film clip for their upcoming animated movie Batman: Year One. I was expecting a lot more from this film. I saw it up at Comic-Con and I was mostly disappointed with the voice work, which doesn't make sense because it had a great cast. Just bad direction I guess. The animation on the other was pretty awesome.

Prolific comic book and screenwriter Grant Morrison (All-Star Superman), recently completed the second draft of the script for his and director Barry Sonnenfeld‘s adaptation of the yet-to-be published graphic novel, Dominion: Dinosaurs Vs. Aliens.
While recently speaking with the DailyRecord, Morrison revealed that he also has plans to adapt the British sci-fi comic Rogue Trooper, created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons. Morrison is adapting the 2000Ad comic series for Sam Worthington‘s company, Full Clip Productions.

Writer of the comics 'All-Star Superman' and 'Batman and Robin,' Grant Morrison is currently working on a graphic novel and film that has the inner 10-year-old in a man yelling "cool!," 'Dinosaurs vs. Aliens.' You could substitute that "cool!' for a "radical!' what with the 80's vibe that the whole project has. It seems like something that would have been attempted during that time period, failed because of horrible stop-motion effects, then rebooted 20 or so years later.Speaking with the Daily Record, Morrison revealed: "I've just finished the second draft of the Dinosaurs vs Aliens movie." Of the straight-forward story, he said: "It's what it kind of says on the tin. What would happen if aliens arrived when dinosaurs were on earth? Barry (Sonnenfeld) had said he wanted a comic book version of the story - and the whole thing built towards the film. »

If you’ve ever reminisced about the “Justice League” TV show and thought “Gosh, wouldn’t it be cool if the original voice cast reunited for another awesome Jl project?” – then we’ve got news for you. Kevin Conroy (Batman), Michael Rosenbaum (Flash), Susan Eisenberg (Wonder Woman) and Carl Lumbly (J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter) will all be reprising their roles in a new DC Universe animated movie, “Justice League: Doom.”
But it gets better: joining the original group will be Tim Daly, the voice of Superman, and current geek god Nathan Fillion, in his new gig as the animated Green Lantern (first seen in the recent release “Green Lantern: Emerald Nights”).
“Justice League: Doom” is the final script from the late Dwayne McDuffie (“All-Star Superman” and “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths”). It’s due from Warner Home Video next year, but early birds »
