Well, well, well! I feel a bit bad for all the actors in Super Eruption. They all seemed sincere and really good in their roles especially Richard Burgi as the forest ranger Charles Young and Juliet Aubrey as volcano expert Kate. But...the average visual effects and overall negative opinions on the movie making ensures low viewership for this movie, and thereby low publicity for these actors.
The effects and the shaky, shaky story are the downfall or I could say, erupted all chances for Super Eruption to succeed commercially :p In many places, the visuals looked fake. Must be a budget issue. I still don't understand why producers take the risk of adding special effects to many scenes if they can't make them realistic or at least very close to it. It's a recipe for disaster as the viewers will quickly lose interest. Let the effects be minimal and create more engaging drama or suspense among the characters.
Amidst all the volcano panic, we've our major characters even interacting with people from the future! That looked extreme but I wouldn't mind if this was a highly-funded movie and things could have been made more convincing. But when you've only a "family" budget(sorry), they could have gone easy with the story. That "futuristic" interaction left a mess and made me really confused.
And pray, what was actor MyAnna Buring(as Claire) doing here and why?! After being in major roles like that in the amazing chill flick, The Descent?
Verdict: Stay far from the sloppy eruption!
