Clark is the only one of the three main characters who is never doubled by another actor. Caprice is doubled by Manon Kostrzewski and Amanda Marrione, while Brandon Goertz and Jack Bennett both stand-in for Kevin, but every shot of Clark is Brandon Goertz.
Renee Thrasher was the very first actress to read for the role of Caprice. Director Jack Bennett cast her after realizing he was comparing all the subsequent auditions to Thrasher's.
Brandon Goertz and Jonathan Conyers were the last actors to read for the roles of Clark and Kevin. They auditioned together and were cast only two weeks before production began.
The screenplay deviates heavily from the original short story by Justin Cristelli. Many of the changes came from Cristelli's first draft of the script, which director Jack Bennett then rewrote and expanded. Bennett never read the short story until after production had wrapped, and was surprised to discover how different it was.
Production was completed in only 12 days. Principal photography was scheduled for only eight days, followed by four days of additional photography.
