Divorced father Jonathan is a physician whose practice is largely made up of wealthy patients for who he writes prescriptions for drugs for recreational use in return for payola. Party boy Richard was once a novelist, but now resorts to teaching high school English to make a living. The scene where Rich (Thomas Jane) and Tim (Christian Mcakay) are joy riding in the porshe is a clear nod to Kubrick's 'A Clockwork Orange' wherein Tim starts 'Whooping' in similarity to the Durango speeding scene of 'Clockwork'..only sealing it with "Go Faster..got faster!" See more »
That's great. You actually believe that?
I don't believe it I know it.
You can't know something if it's a choice.
Where did you learn that college bullshit, from your philosophy professor?
I'm just saying people don't need certain things even though they might think they do.
How the fuck would you know what people need? Who pays your tuition? Huh? Who pays your fucking rent?
Mom and Dad.

As soon as I heard about this movie, I had to see it. I'm a big fan of Jeremy Piven as he has never disappointed in a film. Thomas Jane is also well known for playing The Punisher and being in the HBO series Hung. Rob Lowe also portrayed his character to the fullest. This was the first time I have heard of Christian McKay as well as seeing his acting and he did an AMAZING job. None of these guys disappointed in this film.
This film may not be for everyone but I found it pretty wild. I've seen a lot of "drug" movies but this one is just over the top. But that's not the only thing going on here. It's about life's struggles and how they cope with them.
The soundtrack, in my opinion, was great. Every song in every part fit so well. If you're a fan of 80s punk/alternative, you'll love it as well.
The movie does have it's sad moments and downfalls. The first half introduces you to the characters and who they are whereas the second part shows you what they stand for and who they REALLY are.
All in all, you should check this movie out. Some parts are slow but others make you sit in awe while staring at the TV.
