Edward Holcroft to return for Kingsman 2

19 March 2016 10:24 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

While many believed that his character was killed during the climax of last year’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, according to Deadline, Edward Holcroft will be reprising his role as Charlie Hesketh in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman 2.

Hesketh was a handpicked recruit who goes through part of the training to become a Kingsman agent, but is eventually sent home after failing the train test. Later on in the film, Eggsy fights him at Richmond Valentine’s party, where he is electrocuted and presumably killed when all of the guests’ chip implants go off and their heads explode.

Outside of Kingsman, the actor has a few notable film and TV credits to his name, such as Vampire Academy, London Spy and the Golden Globe-winning Wolf Hall. In 2016, he can be seen starring alongside Jim Broadbent, Michelle DockeryEmily Mortimer and more in The Sense of an Ending.

'Kingsman 2' Is Bringing Back This Key Character

18 March 2016 6:29 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Shortly after Kingsman: The Secret Service became a box office hit last February, there was already talk of a sequel, with writer-director Matthew Vaughn teasing that he was working on the script. The filmmaker also said he was contemplating on whether or not he should bring back Colin Firth's Harry Hart, who was killed towards the end of the first movie, although plans to bring him back for the sequel have since been discarded. Today, Deadline reports that a different seemingly-deceased character, Edward Holcroft's Charlie Hesketh, will be back for Kingsman 2.

While it isn't known if Edward Holcroft is returning as Charlie Hesketh or perhaps playing a completely different character, he joins a Kingsman 2 cast that includes Taron Egerton, reprising his role as Eggsy, Julianne Moore as the new villain and Halle Berry as the head of the CIA. 20th Century Fox has already issued a »

Zoey Deutch on ‘Dirty Grandpa,’ ‘Everybody Wants Some’ & Being Directed by Her Mom

7 January 2016 10:00 AM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

The daughter of Lea Thompson and Howard Deutch, Zoey Deutch dove into acting at age 15 with Disney Channel series “The Suite Life on Deck.” After roles in CW’s “Ringer” and 2014’s “Vampire Academy,” the 21-year-old will cross party paths with Robert De Niro in “Dirty Grandpa” (Jan. 22), show her baseball skills in Richard Linklater’s “Everybody Wants Some” (April 15) and is collaborating on “The Year of Spectacular Men” with another special director: her mom.

What do you love about “Dirty Grandpa”?

I shot it, so you’d think I’d have some concept of how raunchy and funny it is. But the movie just keeps surprising you in terms of how crazy it is.

Who do you play?

I’m an environmentally-conscious college student in Miami, who takes a spring break trip to Daytona Beach with her best friends — where they run into Jason (Zac Efron). And then insanity ensues. »
