Storyline
Something of a wedge is driven between Jane and Maura when they investigate the death of Adam Fairfield, the head of one of the oldest and richest families in Boston. Maura knows the family well and was once engaged to Garrett Fairfield, Adam's younger brother. Jane wants to treat this like any other case but Maura thinks she should cut the family some slack, particularly since she hasn't yet determined a cause of death. Jane thinks Maura wants her to go easy because they're rich and important. When Maura does in fact determine that Adam was murdered, she also finds a clue that leads to the killer - an cashmere sweater. Jane meanwhile learns that her mother Angela has taken to selling a tonic of sorts in local pubs. Written by
