Jane and Maura's plan to run in the Boston marathon is interrupted when they reach the 3 mile mark and find another runner collapsed on the road. They quickly determine that the man was shot but Jane is concerned that it not become widely known as it might induce panic among the half million spectators along the course. When a second man is shot at the 12 mile point, they realize the killer is likely a runner. Working with Frost and Korsak who are back at the office, they learn that the two men went to high school together. They also learn that the they, along with a third student, had gotten away with a vicious rape. Someone is clearly out for revenge and the police have to move quickly when they learn the third man is also among the runners. Written by
