Ray and Mike survey their team locker room which has been trashed by vandals. (It includes graphic photos of wolves -their team name- having sex with each other). Their equipment has also been stolen. Both are upset for their boys since this puts the rest of the season in jeopardy.Mike briefly asks if Damon could be responsible and of course Ray is offended. One way Mike thinks they can make some money is if Ray plays in the upcoming alumni game. He was a popular player who hasn't played in the game in nearly a decade and Mike thinks fans would pony up if they saw him hit. Ray doesn't think so.
This doesn't stop him from going to the batting cages and giving it a swing and some time to think.
Meanwhile Jessica's rash is back in full force and we learn why she's trying to hide it from Ronnie. We flash back three years to Jessica waking up in the middle of the night covered in hives. Ray wakes up to put cream on her back. She says her dermatologist- Ronnie- thinks it's not anything medical but psychosomatic. Ray is perplexed but says nothing. Jessica asks if he wants to know why she's unhappy. He didn't realize she was. Back in the future when Ronnie sees the rash he knows exactly what it means and is also unhappy.
Mike takes Francis on a date to the aquarium and they're having a lovely time until he starts talking about teaching and coaching baseball. She's confused that he "really" does these things. He then asks if she'd buy a "block of tickets" to the game to help with fundraising, whatever she's comfortable with. She's now the confused one thinking he's asking her directly for money.
Later when Tanya takes Francis to lunch and metaphorically threatens her- she eats part of her enchilada and talks about how nice it is to get things for free-- Francis is confused because she thought she "paid" Mike. Then Tanya is confused. And then Francis gets sad and says she doesn't think she can do it anymore and can't believe she's letting these people do this to her. She calls Tanya despicable and leaves.
Ray takes Damon to dinner and asks him about the vandalism. Damon is offended and stalks off to the salad bar. Ray notices his pregnant client Claire across the restaurant. She leaves him a note with her number. He goes to her house and when she sits in the tub and bemoans her size as too large for sex he takes care of her manually. But leaning over the tub he separates his shoulder, throwing his ability to play at the game in jeopardy. And he had been hitting well.
Of course when Mike doesn't hear from Francis he thinks he did something wrong. When he mentions to Ray he asked for money for the tickets. Ray senses something. After a few beers with Mike he goes to visit Tanya. He apologizes for banging Lenore and asks if Tanya gave Francis her money back. Tanya swears she did and adds she wouldn't lie to Ray. She immediately feels bad.
The day of the big game arrives. Jessica and Darby go to root on Ray while Damon wanders around the parking lot. There he runs into a distraught Tanya who says she has come to confess a crime.
Ronnie goes to the sidelines to confront Ray, who is coaching with a sling on his arm. He tells Ray to stay away from Jessica and that she chose Ronnie. Ray also points out that at one point she chose Ray. Ronnie says guys like Ray never gave guys like Ronnie a second look but now guys like Ronnie rule the world. Ray gives him no satisfaction. This exchange, however, causes Ray to go suit up to play. He runs into his pitcher who unethically, but sweetly, tips him off that his third pitch will be a high fastball. Sure enough on his third swing Ray crushes it and sends it out of the park, much to everyone's relief. The alumni don't win the game but it's a nice moment for the older guys. Everybody cheers for Ray.
Francis has also come to the game to talk to Mike, who has left a message saying he loves her. She says they're grown-ups and can talk openly about Tanya. He's confused since he doesn't know Tanya. She tries to explain, he thinks she means the "dating service" Ray mentioned. At that moment Tanya walks out and Francis sees her and says "that woman." Tanya sees Mike and Francis and panics and runs off. She runs toward the outfield where there is no exit and climbs the fence.
Ray heads out and is met by Jessica, Damon, and Darby who all congratulate him. He says it's too bad Jessica couldn't cheer. She says there's no cheering in baseball. Ray asks her to give them a taste of her old cheerleading routine just as he gave them a taste of his baseball prowess. Jessica obliges.
