Two civilians find the body of a Navy petty officer first-class, submerged in a backyard hot tub; Gibbs and company investigate; Ducky sees an unusual clue. The widow fills in Tony and Ziva, and Abby makes a significant discovery, implicating a ship of the Royal Navy. Gibbs takes a strong dislike to a major in the Royal Marines; however, Ziva asks the major to "do a quickie". Tony and Ziva find an important valve handwheel, and Gibbs gains an advantage by using a pipe wrench. The ship leaves port, but the major stays behind, and the major turns out to be something else, as does a special agent of the CIA. Vance tells Gibbs to cool it; Gibbs takes a different tack, and he finds a visitor when he returns home. The gang trace missing money; they figure out who killed the sailor, and who stole the money, then they nab the person responsible. Tony sets off an alarm. Written by DocRushing

During the scene where McGee puts up the HMS Sparrow-Hawk's ship manifest, weaponry from the Halo game series is listed under armaments including 1x Magnetic Accelerator Cannon(MAC), 3x Shiva-Class Nuclear Missiles, 40x Archer missile pods, and 8x 50mm Point Defense Guns. This scene is also unusual because the HMS Sparrow-Hawk is a transport vessel which do not commonly have ship-borne weapons. See more »

The uniform of Major Malloy is wholly incorrect. The Royal Marine (RM) Lovat uniform has dulled buttons and is worn with the green beret, rather than the peaked cap. The crown rank insignia is incorrect and the uniform is missing the RM flashes and the globe devices. Finally, even an experienced marine would be unlikely to have so many medal ribbons. See more »

Royal Marine Major Peter Malloy: I've been setup. You know, I thought MI-6 was good. But your CIA, they're very impressive.

Peter Malloy??
12 June 2013 | by (United States Minor Outlying Islands) – See all my reviews

This was a good episode. Interesting to have some interaction with the British Royal Navy. Even MORE interesting to see Daniel Gillies in this one. He's nice to look at, no matter what character he plays. :-p

Anyway, I have to wonder about Gillies' character being named Peter Malloy. I'm hard-pressed to believe it was a complete coincidence, and yet I can't find any mention of it anywhere. Classic-TV fans (in fact, fans of really good TV) will recognize the name Pete Malloy as being a character in the venerable show Adam-12. Malloy was the experienced, wry, and foxy (in more ways than one) senior police officer in that TV show.
