Storyline

The German children book Der Struwwelpeter written in 1845 by Heinrich Hoffmann, demonstrates through rhyme and illustration certain punishments for misbehaving. This film, Der Struwwelpeter is an adaptation of four of the colorful, yet gruesome tales. Through reenacting these fairy tales in a theatrical and stylistic manner, the film remains true to the book's visual representation. Yet presenting the film in form of an instructional film, mocks the extreme punishments by juxtaposing the brutality of the scenes with a calm narrator voice. Written by Anonymous
