Two cousins, with different views on art versus commerce, on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene; "Earnest 'Earn' Marks," an ambitious college drop-out and his estranged cousin, who suddenly becomes a star.
"Bro Rape: A Newsline Investigative Report" is a Derrick Comedy production from 10 years ago and it is a bit of a spoof of the Chris Hanson investigation stories that aired on television a while ago. From that perspective, it succeeds for the most part, but the individual comedy that is originally from the creators here is not too memorable or unique. This is especially disappointing as some of the people who worked on this 9-minute short film have managed solid careers in the last 10 years. But here, their approach to filmmaking and acting still was not particularly refined. It is especially bad at the beginning, but gets a bit better as the film keeps going. Overall, I found it not a great work though and I do not recommend the watch.
