The destruction in Man of Steel will play a major part in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

17 December 2014 3:21 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Since it was announced last year, we’ve heard a lot of talk about one half of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but not so much on the other. Over the weekend our comments section blew up as people gave their thoughts on the colour of Batman’s new outfit, but there wasn’t so much talk about Superman when his costume was revealed.

Warning – potential spoilers…

So, just what will become of the Last Son of Krypton in this team-up movie? Well, according to Bad Ass Digest, the destruction caused by the fight between Superman and Zod in Man of Steel will play a major role in the plot for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. According to their sources who have read the script, Superman has become a very controversial figure, having intervened in America’s fight in the Middle East and has even been banned from Chinese airspace. »

First official look at Ben Affleck’s Batman v Superman Batsuit in colour

13 December 2014 3:25 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

We’ve seen a couple of shots of Ben Affleck in the Batsuit in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but not in colour… until now. ComicBook has discovered a colourised version of the first official photo of Affleck’s Dark Knight, which is taken directly from Zack Snyder’s Cruel & Unusual Films production company website…

So, pretty much as expected, but now that we know exactly what colour scheme they’ve gone with, how do you think it stacks up against the previous all-black versions we’ve seen on the big screen?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25th, 2016 with Zack Snyder directing a cast that includes returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Harry Lennix (General Swanwick) alongside Ben Affleck (Argo) as Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) as Wonder Woman, »

Jeremy Irons talks Alfred role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

9 December 2014 11:04 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has recently wrapped shooting but is not due for release for another fifteen months yet. The film is set to introduce us to lots of new characters and reimagining of characters we have seen on screen before. One of those is Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth, played by Jeremy Irons, and so far not much has been said or revealed about the character in this version. Until now.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Irons revealed a bit of information about his role of Alfred, stating that it’s “not a large role” and adding that: “He is quite a different Alfred than we have seen so far. Zack Snyder had very clear views about what he wanted. I would just say he’s more hands-on perhaps than just a butler.”

So although it is a small role it sounds like it »

Possible Spoiler – Major character already dead in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

8 December 2014 3:03 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Filming has wrapped, but we’re still a little way off from an official trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (unless it does come out this year, attached to The Hobbit: The Five Armies), but that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill churning.

So what do have today? Robin? Doomsday? KGBeast?? Nope. According to Bad Ass Digest, there will be a major Batman character that will already be dead by the time the movie starts.

Still with us? Spoilers ahead…

So, the site is claiming that Detective Jim Gordon will already be dead in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with script calling for a shot of his memorial plate. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard a rumour that the Batman character will already be dead, with the same site reporting that Robin would have bitten the dust as well.

What do we make of this new rumour? »

Doomsday, Joker and KGBeast “confirmed” for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

3 December 2014 2:20 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Hot off the heels of yesterday’s blockbuster announcement of the casting for Suicide Squad, we now have some possible news on plot details for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

According to Badass Digest – who are usually spot on with “scoops” – Doomsday will indeed be in the main villain of the piece. Not only that, but Jessie Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will have a henchman who is called Anatoli Knyazev in the script. Hardcore DC fans will take pride in knowing that this is in fact DC villain KGBeast, who has battled with Batman in the past. It is unlikely that we’ll see KGBeast in action in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but there are always other films…

The website also claims that while Jared Leto’s Joker is unlikely to appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he will be mentioned as Superman is very much aware of his existence. »

As Universal powers full steam ahead with its plans to relaunch its library of classic movie monsters, red-hot writer Jay Basu (Monsters: Dark Continent) has become the latest scribe to join a brain trust being set up to mastermind the studio’s ambitious endeavor. It’s unclear which entry in Universal Monsters Basu will be personally heading up (if any), but his feedback will be incorporated into all projects under the banner.

Super-producers Alex Kurtzman (TransformersThe Amazing Spider-Man) and Chris Morgan (the Fast & Furious franchise) are serving as the architects of Universal Monsters, which will expand and join together a network of classic monsters. So far, Universal has also recruited Fargo scribe/creator Noah HawleyPrisoners screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski and Now You See Me scribe Ed Solomon to help with the effort. Out of those writers, only Guzikowski has been tasked with a specific script – for The Wolfman.

Now You See Me 2’s Official Title Revealed

25 November 2014 5:14 PM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Over the past few months, we’ve heard some pretty awful proposed titles for Now You See Me 2, Summit’s announced sequel to the 2013 magician caper, including (believe it or not) Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. Luckily, the filmmakers chose to go with a different tactic when subtitling the follow-up, as Mark Ruffalo has just revealed that the full title is Now You See Me: The Second Act

Hardly the catchiest title, I know, but it does remind us that the sequel will continue to set up the larger universe merely teased in the first installment. In The Second Act, three of the Four Horsemen (Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco and Jesse EisenbergIsla Fisher opted not to return) are drawn out of hiding to face a new enemy, who enlists them for a dangerous heist. Agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo) also returns to the franchise, »

Now You See Me 2 Title Revealed

25 November 2014 2:24 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

2013’s Now You See Me was one of those quiet box office successes that kind of flew under the radar.  The magician-centric heist picture didn’t garner great reviews, but it opened to a solid $29.3 million and went on to gross $351.7 million worldwide.  With an international hit on its hands, Lionsgate/Summit unsurprisingly put the wheels in motion for a sequel.  G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M. Chu takes over from previous helmer Louis Leterrier this time around with the entire main cast returning plus Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan, and Jay Chou (The Green Hornet).  And now that filming is set to get underway soon, star Mark Ruffalo has revealed the official Now You See Me 2 title: Now You See Me: The Second Act.  More after the jump. With pre-production on the sequel now underway, Ruffalo opted to break the news of the Now You See Me 2 »
