Morgan Freeman plays "God" in both Bruce Almighty (2003) and Evan Almighty (2007). In Now You See Me (2013), he plays Thaddeus Bradley. In one scene he performs a magic trick for Alma Dray (Mélanie Laurent), where he "turns water into wine", prompting the following conversation. Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo): "Wow, that's incredible, that's amazing!" Thaddeus Bradley: "Red dye in the palm." Dylan Rhodes: "Is that how Jesus did it? That's incredible!"
During the 4 Horsemens first show, Thaddeus (Morgan Freeman) is told by an Asian usher to give up his recording device, and then starts using a second one. A nod to the trick Lucius Fox, played by the same actor, uses when visiting Lau in Hong Kong
