"Last Stop" is a very simple film, but don't be deceived by this or the short running time--it packs a big emotional wallop. The film is about an abused woman who has gone to the train station. We stops to send a telegram to her abuser. And, the entire film then consists of her declaring her freedom--her decision that it must STOP. As she delivers her lines (almost like a poem), you see flashbacks of some of the brutal treatment she received. This is all accompanied by very good music--though I must admit that it did seem too loud a few times. This MAY just be because of how I saw the film on the Doorpost Film Project's website. Regardless, it is a very, very minor complaint and overall this is a very powerful film--one that might just have you in tears. Excellent and very professional work from some young film makers who deserve to be noticed.
