Storyline

Nina and George encounter Adam, who looks fifteen but is forty-six, a recently orphaned vampire whose late parents were his blood supply. They give him a room in the house but Mitchell is not welcoming, having problems of his own. In addition to recalling Lia's words that he would be killed by a werewolf he is visited by Richard Hargreaves, carpet layer and vampire, on behalf of the 'old ones', vampires irate with him for the train massacre, who want to send him away to South America before the police grow suspicious. Richard and his wife Emma seem a cosy middle-class couple keen to adopt Adam but they are not what they seem and ultimately Mitchell, falling for Annie and anxious to stay around, gives Adam the money Richard provided for his escape. Kinky vampires!
30 January 2011 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Now Annie is back from purgatory she feels obliged to help Mitchell, even when he doesn't want or need help; this includes when he goes for an interview and she is constantly giving him instructions which leads to him looking rather insane as the interviewer can't see her! Meanwhile George and Nina discover a young vampire called Adam feeding off one of the patients in the hospital; they learn that he is the patient's son and when he dies they take him home thinking Mitchell will be able to help him. Mitchell has another problem though; the senior vampires know he was responsible for the massacre in Box tunnel and want him out of the way before the police can catch him. When Mitchell refuses to help Adam George and Nina take him to Mitchell's vampire contact… at first they seem a nice couple living in a desirable house but it soon becomes apparent that they aren't nice people and George and Nina decide that Adam would be best with them after all.

This second episode was pretty good with more laughs than last week's series opener, it is not surprising though as purgatory isn't as intrinsically amusing as vampires who keep a man in a gimp suit in the cellar to feed on! The character of Adam was a bit annoying but then I suspect he was meant to be. While the main story didn't advance the series plot much it was interesting and there were more references to Mitchell being destined to be killed by a werewolf; I suspect that will be a regular theme this series.
