Both Anil and Bindu are main characters. They get plenty of chances to show off their skills . They compete with each other in acting their roles. Bindu dies after a freak accident in Shimla while singing a duet with her husband Anil. Disheartened, he comes to Mumbai with his loyal man servant and starts painting to sustain himself . He meets Shyamilee , the pretty dainty daughter of a rich man Pinchoo Kapoor . They love for art brings them close . Despite her father's objections , they decide to get married. Suddenly Bindu returns back in his life . Anil refuses to believe it as he has seen her fall down from a tall height himself . Here starts a cat and mouse game . Each one trying to prove they are right . Finally he calls Bindu's sister from Rome . Bindu looks pretty in her traditional garb with a big bind and a simple sari . Tall , lithe , handsome Anil is a treat to watch as a lost widower, then as an innocent lover of Shamilee, then a confused husband torn between his GF and Bindu . A lot of twists and turns take place . Sujit Kumar comes in and out at regular intervals as an investigative officer. Over all a fine thriller . A rare movie where Bindu comes as the main protagonist .
