A couple of years ago it was announced that Clive Barker was developing a TV series with Morgan Creek based on his 1990 horror film Nightbreed. We haven't heard anything about it since he first talked about it, saying:
"The sensitivity of our culture has sort of caught up with Nightbreed. I don't wish to be immodest, but the general sense is that the movie failed because people didn't want to associate with the monster, and I think our culture has changed—I think our culture is now ready to embrace the ambiguity."
Apparently, the production company is once again taking steps to develop the movie into a series. An extended cut of the film is set to be released on Blu-ray soon, and while promoting it, Michael Plumides of Morgan Creek gave an update in an interview with Empire.

Nightbreed is back in a big way with a brand new comic book series and a director’s cut version of the movie headed to Blu-ray and DVD in October. However, not all fans may be aware of a TV series that has been in development and we’ve received an update from Michael Plumides on the current status of the Nightbreed TV series:
“We’ve been actively developing the Nightbreed TV series at Morgan Creek with Clive Barker for two years. We hope the newly restored Director’s Cut will help us illustrate how wildly popular the series could be to potential buyers. I recently penned four episodes including the pilot, with material all approved by Clive and Mark Miller at Seraphim Films. We have also been developing new Nightbreed creature concepts and I’ve been collaborating with Tate Steinsiek (SyFy’s Face Off) for some months now, to »

A stuntwoman on the Syfy reality series Face Off is suing the production alleging that she was severely burned while filming the show. A personal injury lawsuit filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court claims that on or around June 21, 2012, Tamiko Brownlee suffered burns "over multiple parts of her body" as a "result of negligence or and/or wrongdoing of defendants … in the creation, maintenance, coordinating, handling, set-up" of the pyrotechnics, causing her to be "consumed by a fireball." Set to visit 16 cities in 2014, Wizard World’s plethora of comic book booths, clothing vendors, and impressive line-up of celebrities are always enough to sate the appetite of any pop culture enthusiast, but prior to their visit to Minneapolis May 2nd–4th, I was wondering how much horror would be had in the aisles within the Convention Center’s cavernous confines.
As it turns out, Wizard World had more than enough entertainment for horror fans to dig into, and they picked the perfect horror headliner for Wizard World Minneapolis: Robert Englund, best known as Freddy Krueger, the living legend of our nightmares and realities.
One of my first destinations upon entering Wizard World Minneapolis was Robert Englund’s booth. I weaved my way through a crowd of eye-grabbing cosplayers—Hellboy, Darth Maul, and a perfectly matched Spider-Man and Black Cat couple were of particular notice—before stepping in line to »

At a press conference, Neil Patrick Harris responded to speculation about him taking over for David Letterman as Late Show host, “I’m super-focused on Hedwig at the moment, so that hasn’t even been a conversation at all.” He later added, “It would be an asinine amount of work.”
Meanwhile, as the speculation into the next Late Show host continues, TheWrap reports that CBS was talking with Chelsea Handler about hosting a syndicated talk show or taking over The Late Late Show when Letterman announced his retirement. Now, those talks have moved towards the Late Show spot.
Syfy has ordered 13 episodes of Olympus, a drama about a young man who grows to be someone capable of banishing the gods to Hades.

Ten years ago today, Unfiltered debuted on Air America Radio stations. While the big draw was Chuck D and comedian Lizz Winstead, the lasting effect of Unfiltered (which barely lasted a year) was that it introduced Rachel Maddow to a national audience. However, for most people today is April Fools Day, so be a little cynical when you check the news.
In the upcoming Walking Dead season, Alanna Masterson (Tara), Christian Serratos (Rosita) and Andrew J. West (Gareth) have been promoted to series regulars. I hope that means they’ve got plans for Tara.

Think you’ve seen Kit Harington naked thanks to that Game of Thrones scene in that rock pool? In a GQ profile, Harrington admits that scene featured a butt double. “I had a broken ankle… so the only time you saw my ass, it wasn’t my ass.” Instead a crew member with curly black hair and a great backside was asked to get a haircut to match Harrington and fill in.
The abs are definitely real, tho.

Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge is the latest SFX show from Syfy, following their successful make-up competition show Face/Off. In anticipation of the series debut we talked to Brian Henson, chairman of the Jim Henson Company and also the head judge on the Syfy series, about the new creature building competition series.
Can you tease a bit of some of the creatures we’re going to see coming up, since we’ve only seen what’s in the first one?
Brian Henson: Well, we keep it a little bit secret because that’s part of the fun so I won’t tell you too much. I will say that creatures in general – there’s a really wide range that you can do depending on if they’re small or they’re large or what kind of technique you’re using. Is it more fabrication or is it more mechanization? »

Debate! The Good Wife and Scandal both abruptly killed off a major character. Which recent shocking TV death was better? The Daily Beast says Good Wife provided a lesson in what a perfect Omg moment looks like , but Vulture took a different view and called it a betrayal to the characters. Vulture’s pro-Scandal argument: The political drama’s big surprise was a moment built on weeks of character choices and one that went on to further define the characters.

Brian Pulido, creator of the comic Lady Death and the feature film The Graves, is set to appear on Syfy’s "Foxy and Co.," a reality show showcasing the special effects makeup work of "Face Off" favorite Eric Fox and his team, tonight, March 18th, at 10Pm.
For the show Pulido directed a proof of concept short film entitled Zack the Zombie Exterminator, a horror/comedy about Zack Zander, an amiable redneck metal head with a talent for zombie-splatting who runs “Z-Gone", a family business that “disposes” of the undead.
Simply stated, Zack the Zombie Exterminator puts the fun back into zombie-splatting. Zack is a gross-out spectacle full of zombie guts and exploding brains. It’s slapstick Wtf humor, cringe-worthy and cathartic, and what better guy to fulfill this mad vision than Morbx Fx’s Eric Fox, »

I know some of you were disappointed that Mason Dye wouldn’t be sticking around for the Flowers in the Attic sequel, but E! has some news that should make up for that. Dye has joined the cast of Teen Wolf. Even better, he’ll be playing a new, gay member of the lacrosse team. Dye isn’t the only new cast member who will play a part of the lacrosse team, Khylin Rhambo and Dylan Sprayberry are also joining the supernatural drama.
Does this mean we’ll finally get to see more of Danny?
