Bryan Singer will direct the pilot of Battle Creek, the upcoming CBS series from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan. CBS has already ordered 13 episodes, but the director of a pilot episode ends up determining the look and feel of the entire series. That will be the fourth time Singer has directed a pilot, the first being House. (He also directed the Football Wives and Mockingbird Lane pilots, which didn’t become series.)
Y Tu Mama Tambien vet Diego Luna will star in the El Rey Network’s Matador, a series from the creators of Sleepy Hollow that follows a famous soccer player who uses his celebrity status as a cover for his work as a CIA agent.

‘Bittersweet’ is the perfect word for the news that the final season of Warehouse 13 premiere date has been announced. It will only be half a season, six episodes, but it is wonderful that the show will be given a chance for a suitable series finale.
In purely happier news, we now also have premiere dates for the third season of Continuum, new series comics-based Metal Hurlan Chronicles (with James Marsters!), new competition Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge, and more. Bookmark this page and/or check our calendar so that you can continually plan your life around your favorite shows.

We open with a foundation challenge: the contestants must choose a motorcycle and design the rider. Daran wins for his tribal road warrior look. He has immunity this week.
The spotlight challenge pairs the contestants (they get to pick their own partner) and asks them to create a rock god. Each team selects a guitar, creates an extreme rock star to go with it, and literally fuse the rock god with his guitar.
Matt and Tess want to do a rockabilly goat. Cute, right? Tess has a panic attack when Michael Westmore tells her her goat sculpt looks more like a cat. Matt is super-supportive, and they get it all done - except that one of the horns falls off during close-up inspection. Ve feels it looks like Ron Perlman and Gary Busey got mashed up together. »

This has been a terrific season of Face Off so far, with a lot of amazing hits and very few misses. I was afraid that last season’s Veterans vs Rookies would be hard to match, but Season 6 has taken over without missing a beat. Tonight’s spotlight challenge looks particularly cool:

Everybody knows Oscar, but they may not know his whole story.
That background is explored when Turner Classic Movies launches its annual "31 Days of Oscar" festival - consisting of films that either have won or been nominated for Academy Awards - with a new documentary titled "And the Oscar Goes to ..." Saturday, Feb. 1. Rare footage is a highlight of the program, including clips from some of the earliest ceremonies to honor a year's achievements in cinema.
Expectedly since the program is on TCM, and also since he's a longtime documenter of Hollywood whose book "85 Years of the Oscar: The Official History of the Academy Awards" was published recently, main channel host Robert Osborne is among the interviewees.
"There's footage in this that people haven't seen for years, so it's going to be great fun for them, I think," Osborne, who was the official greeter of celebrities on the Oscar red carpet for several years, »
TV Guide reports that Jessica de Gouw will be returning to Arrow as The Huntress in an episode titled “Birds of Prey”. There’s a Black Canary in Starling City now, so does that mean Felicity will start calling herself “Oracle“?
Steven Moffat talked with Vulture about this week’s Sherlock and said this was the scene he wanted to see ever since he was a boy reading Arthur Conan Doyle‘s stories. “I remember being a 12-year-old kid thinking, Oh, why didn’t we see Sherlock be the best man? Please, can we see that? That would be the best story in the whole world, and I don’t care if there’s a crime in it or not, because it must have been the best and worst speech of all time!”

Kendrick Lamar At Grammys 2014 & More — Grammy Awards’ Hottest Hunks
Kendrick Lamar crushed it on the Grammys red carpet, rocking a stand-out cerulean blue suit with a single black border. He paired the suit with a shiny black top and black shoes. Kendrick was nominated for seven Grammys this year, so it’s no wonder he looks so sharp for the occasion! »
Ginger Snaps star Katherine Isabelle, will be joining the second season of Hannibal, according to TVLine. Her character is described as a lesbian and a potential love interest for Will, which sounds like Bryan Fuller is toying with us again.
Deadline reports that NBC has announced two more casting choices for its upcoming Rosemary’s Baby mini-series. Patrick J. Adams will play the male lead Guy, while Jason Isaacs will play coven leader Roman Castevet. I’m curious if Adams is going to try to play sinister or use his adorable qualities to make Guy’s deeds more horrifying.
Thanks to a championship football game as lead-in, the second season premiere of The Following was the series’ highest-rated episode.

Face Off Episode 601
Original Airdate: 14 January 2014
In This Episode…
The sixth season opens with McKenzie Westmore announcing that this will be a season of extremes, and they are looking for bigger and more extreme makeups. She also reveals that, new this year, the judges will have the opportunity to offer a one-time immunity to anyone they think deserves a second chance. I assume that this is one immunity per judge.
The episode starts with a foundation challenge, to do a makeup that represents themselves as artists, and inspired by a huge, crazy wig worn by a model. George wins and gains immunity for the week.
The spotlight challenge takes the contestants to a castle, where they are greeted by six princesses in lush gowns, holding a picture of a castle. Working in teams of two, each team must create a Beast to go with his castle and his Belle. »

Face Off is back tonight, and it hits the ground running. Last season’s Pros vs Rookies was a great theme and hard to beat, but we are promised that Season 6 will be a “season of extremes,” and I can’t wait. Tonight gets us off to a great start; wait until you see the wigs on the Foundation Challenge.
Though you’ll see the fabulous house in which they’re staying during the competition, all you’ll be hearing about is how great the house is. No strategizing, no trash talk. It’s a terrific, informative, inspiring competition show, and as I often say, the only one I follow.
Get a taste of all the tension and talent and the near-complete lack of whining and back-biting in the trailer and clip below:

HBO has ordered a third season of The Newsroom, though that will be the series swan song.
I’ll be honest, I just like seeing Raj and Stuart spending time together and tend to be wary of any distractions.
NBC has ordered a pilot of the graphic novel character John Constantine. As a longtime fan of the character, I should be excited except I’m worried this will be another case of straightwashing on a David Goyer show.

Ian & Nina took home a huge award at the People’s Choice Awards — and sealed it with a kiss! Congrats to the happy (on-screen) couple.
Science has never been our best subject, but we’re always willing to talk about chemistry — especially when it pertains to the chemistry of our favorite on-screen couples! Five of today’s hottest TV couples went heads-to-heads Jan. 8 at the 2014 People’s Choice Awards, and no fandom was safe from the carnage.
And because they’re such good sports, Ian and Nina even joked about their up-and-down relationship — both on and off screen.

Lala and LiLo both looked amazing in this velvet mini dress, but both looks were very different. Who do you think wore the frock better? Vote!
Lala Anthony wore this amazing dress first when she stepped out on Oct. 13, 2012, for Bet’s Black Girls Rock event — and she killed it! However mere days ago on Jan. 6, Lindsay Lohan donned the same exact dress to the 2nd Sohu Fashion Achievement Awards and she looked just as good! We cannot decide which look was the best, so you decide! Who wore it better? Vote.
Lala looked fab in the skintight velvet Balmain dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection. The pattern on the dress resembled scales and the frock fit her curvaceous body perfectly as the turtle neck went well with Lala’s choice of hairstyle — a slicked back, high ponytail with a bouffant. Lala completed the look with pointy, »
