This is a very niche TV show.
I saw the followup special in 2012 but find fairly same as the show. The show itself is more elaborate, detailed and intricate to each of the characters.
The show centers on a 30 something messy kind of a guy who is pessimistic, sardonic and lazy .. really. But one day a few girls started calling him. He is sex deprived and starved and can only think on that front most of the time. And the show follows his encounter with 4 of these women.
There are small sequences of gaffs for humor but it got more focused and you as audience get to know this central character more. He is shy, unbearably inadequate, thinks the world revolves around him, incapable of understanding women (arn't all guys?).
The performances by all are incredible. Especially the twisted older editor. Man he just comes across as schemer and slimmy (good acting!!!).
There is near the end a few small revelation they are all kind of heart breaking.
Overall, very well written in that it captures the convoluted, messed up logic, and secluded world of this sad chap from an internal POV.
