In "Iron Man 2," "The Avengers," and next spring's "Captain America: Winter Soldier," Scarlett Johansson has exhibited (and will exhibit) her ability to kick, punch, and head-butt with the best of them. And now she's going to get to use those skills again, after just having signed on to Luc Besson's forthcoming thriller "Lucy," according to the Hollywood Reporter. The ludicrously amazing (or is it amazingly ludicrous?) plot of "Lucy" involves Johansson's character having to become a drug mule for some nefarious types. But instead of transporting the drug, it goes into her system and basically turns her into Bradley Cooper from "Limitless" –- according to the report she can "absorb knowledge instantaneously, is able to move objects with her mind and can't feel pain and other discomforts." Presumably she uses these new abilities to get back at the guys who forced her into the drug mule business. »

Zoe Saldana asked Jj Abrams for more of a badass role in the Star Trek sequel and she may have gotten her wish. The actress' character Uhura graces her own Star Trek Into The Darkness character movie poster.
Zoe Saldana reprises her role as Nyota Uhura in Star Trek Into The Darkness along with her fellow USS Enterprise crew John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Peter Weller, and Anton Yelchin. In the reboot of 2009's Star Trek, the only action Uhura saw was in the love department with Spock (Zachary Quinto). We know Zoe Saldana can kick butt as best exemplified with her fighting style in Colombiana, The Losers and Avatar. We're looking forward to seeing Saldana as Uhura once again with hopefully a larger role in saving the world.

Spanish film director Juan Jose Bigas Luna, a colorful chronicler of sexual and social excess, died Friday near Tarragona, Spain, after a long battle with cancer. He was 67.
It was typical of Bigas Luna, a larger-than-life bon vivant who soon became a one-man-brand, that when Spain followed up the 1975 death of dictator Francisco Franco with a splurge of tits-and-bums quickies, Bigas Luna’s second feature, 1978’s “Bilbao,” rolled off the new sexual liberties to portray a hen-pecked husband who kidnaps a prostitute to slake his sexual frustrations, hanging her from his ceiling like a religious martyr.
“Bilbao” initiated Bigas Luna’s long-term exploration of sexual and emotional inadequacy, set in the context of social repression. This inspired the 1990’s sexual awakening drama “The Ages of Lulu,” whose S & M orgy was cut by the British Board of Film Classification.
These obsessions also lends weight, however, to Bigas Luna’s finest film achievement, »

Zoe Saldana wants to be a badass, this much is clear. One of the reasons we've seen so much of her fighting and kicking and shooting in the Star Trek Into Darkness previews is because she requested that her role in the sequel be badass-ified instead of settling for the love interest or eye-candy role. She's proven herself as one of Hollywood's go-to actresses for action-heavy projects (see: Avatar, Colombiana), and now she's using her blockbuster cred to gain entry to the Marvel Universe in the upcoming space-set Guardians of the Galaxy. According to THR, Saldana is in talks to play Gamora, the team's sole female assassin, "a green-skinned humanoid who is the last of a species that was exterminated by a race known as the Badoon." Zoe Saldana just can't stay away from outer space.
The "Avatar" and "Star Trek" beauty will be blasting off this planet once again as she's set to join the cast of the weirdo Marvel movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy," according to Heat Vision.
"Guardians" follows the adventures of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), a half-alien, half-human astronaut who becomes 'Star-Lord' when he joins a team of otherworldly superheroes: the mighty Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista); Rocket Raccoon, a, uh, talking raccoon; Groot, a talking tree; and Gamora, a green-skinned hottie assassin who is the last of a species that was exterminated by a race known as the Badoon.
Zoe Saldana will be playing the role of Groot, the talking tree. And what a great talking tree she'll be!
Just kidding — she'll be playing the hot assassin lady. Saldana is no stranger to assassin roles after having played one for producer Luc Besson in "Colombiana, »

Zoe Saldana is in talks to play the female lead in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy big screen adaptation, says THR. Assuming an agreement is reached, Saldana will play a character named Gamora (image below-left), described as "the green-skinned humanoid who is the last of a species that was exterminated by a race known as the Badoon. She also happens to be a skilled assassin." The character sounds like a combination of Neytiri (the character she played in Avatar) and Cataleya, the character she played in Colombiana. Ms Saldana will join Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, and Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, in the movie adaptation of the »

Casting is underway for Marvel’s upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy, set to be directed by James Gunn. We’ve already heard that Chris Pratt will play Star-Lord and that David Bautista will take on the role of Drax The Destroyer.
Today, we’re receiving news from The Hollywood Reporter that actress Zoe Saldana will play Gamora in Marvel’s Phase Two film.
According to Wikipedia, Gamora is “the adopted daughter of the supervillain Thanos, and the last of her species. Her powers include superhuman strength and agility and an accelerated healing factor.” Seeing as she’s related to Thanos, the villain that appeared at the end of The Avengers (also rumoured to be in The Avengers 2), it’s a bit easier to see how everything will tie together in Phase Two.
To be honest, I’m not too familiar with the story behind the Guardians of the »

Zoe Saldana just can’t seem to stay away from outer space. After surviving Pandora in James Cameron’s “Avatar” and currently manning Uhura’s communications deck in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” movies, the actress is currently in negotiations to join the wacky space-based cast of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Saldana, who is known for her kick-ass onscreen characters in the two aforementioned films (as well as “The Losers” and “Colombiana”), will play another kick-ass character in “Guardiasn” — that of Gamora, the green-skinned and supposedly “deadliest woman in the universe” (left). If the deal goes through and she does indeed signs on, Saldana will be joining the previously cast Chris Pratt, who will be playing Star-Lord, the Guardians’ human leader, and former wrestler Dave Bautista, who will be playing the equally green-skinned Drax the Destroyer.
