Without tanks or air support, a corporal and his team must muster all the courage and firepower they can to fight their way across war-torn Afghanistan and shepherd an important anti-Taliban woman to safety.
A Navy navigator is shot down over enemy territory and is ruthlessly pursued by a secret police enforcer and the opposing troops. Meanwhile his commanding officer goes against orders in an attempt to rescue him.
In Afghanistan, French journalist Elsa and her colleague Amen are covering the story of Maina, a woman sold to a man when she was a child. Taliban leader Ahmed Zaief abducts Elsa and Amen and tries to force them to read a message to Western governments. The French president sends six Special Force to rescue Elsa who's hidden in a fortress in Pakistan. The team composed of Commander Kovax, Tic-Tac, Lucas, the sniper Elias, Victor and Marius release Elsa and Amen from their imprisonment but lose their radios. Now the group needs to cross the inhospitable land to save their lives with the Taliban chasing them. Written by

Hey there actually IS a French military after all!
I really liked this film a lot. I thought I had kind of outgrown my war movie phase in life, but recently have started watching them again. This film is actually pretty entertaining. You do not watch these kinds of films to find inner peace, harmony, the meaning of the universe, or wow you with poetic symbolism, etc. They are for fun only, and on that level, this one succeeds indeed. It's also satisfying for me to see that the country of France still actually has a military with special forces units, and can at least make movies about them "taking care of business" against the crazy fundamentalists in the world. I always thought France would just about put up with everything. I guess they have changed their mind, or I was dead wrong about them! Also, since I saw him in Blood Diamond, I've really come to like Djimon Hounsou as an actor. Great choice to cast him in this film.
