The movie uses the same actors who played in Anna Tchernakova's The Cherry Orchard (1993) and includes about 3 minutes of extracts from the old film, so the audience can appreciate how they've changed. Yuri Stoyanov, a mega-famous Russian comedian star of a popular 'Gorodok' programme, makes a rare appearance in a central role of a serious movie. Alexander Adabashyan, a co-author of many films by Nikita Mikhalkov and a writer and a director himself ('Mado, poste restante") is a co-writer and art director here, as well as playing one of a minor parts.
