Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Set Wedding Date?

22 October 2014 10:19 AM, PDT | National Ledger | See recent National Ledger news »

Is the wedding date set for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux? The 45-year-old actress and 'The Leftovers' actor got engaged in August 2012 and have yet to announce when they are planning to hold their big day but are now said to have finalised their plans. A source told the Us Ok! magazine: ''It's really happening! Jen is excited beyond belief. She says it will be the best day of her life.'' However, despite having decided on a date and venue, Jennifer - who was previously married to 'Fury' actor Brad Pitt - is said to be remaining tight-lipped about the nuptials. The insider continued: ''If you try asking, she'll change the subject to keep everybody guessing.'' The couple - who met while starring alongside one another in 2012 film 'Wanderlust' - are said to have revealed, however, that they want to be a low-key affair. »

Key & Peele Stars Will Topline Keanu

21 October 2014 8:34 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

After exploding on Comedy Central with their sketch series Key & Peele, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are heading to the big screen for their first joint film project, titled Keanu.

The movie, centering on two friends who masquerade as drug dealers to infiltrate the criminal underworld in hopes of retrieving a purloined cat (the Keanu of the title), won out over a Police Academy reboot, a Judd Apatow flick and a spinoff of Mr. Garvey, aka Substitute Teacher, as the duo’s first big-screen starring vehicle.

Though the pair co-starred in FX’s Fargo and have had separate gigs in films like The Lego Movie and Let’s Be Cops (Key) and Wanderlust and Little Fockers (Peele), Keanu will serve as their first joint film.

Peele and Alex Rubens, who has written for Key & Peele and also Community, handled script-writing duties. Said Peele:

Key And Peele Get Catnapped With ‘Keanu’

21 October 2014 12:20 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Comedy Central duo Key and Peele are set to start their first film together at New Line Cinema – and it features a kidnapped feline.

Keanu tells the story of the stolen moggy (called Keanu we assume) who’s swiped by a criminal gang. Friends and family must infiltrate the crime underworld to rescue the purloined puss.

The pair have been thinking about feature films for a while now, with a Police Academy reboot and a Key and Peele spinoff on the table. But it looks like the cat’s the winner.

Peele wrote the script along with Alex Rubens, another show writer. Filming starts in La next April and it looks like Peter Atencio might be lined up to direct.

Both  Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are no strangers to film – Key in The Lego Movie and Let’S Be Cops, and Peele in Wanderlust and Little Fockers, however this »

‘Key & Peele’ In New Line Deal For First Joint Film, About Purloined Feline ‘Keanu’

20 October 2014 8:07 AM, PDT | Deadline New York | See recent Deadline New York news »

Exclusive: Comedy Central series stars Key & Peele’s Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have set their first joint film project at New Line. Titled Keanu, the film is set to start production next spring. The title refers not to the actor who played Neo in The Matrix, but rather to a kidnapped cat.

Said Peele: “The movie should resonate with a large audience as almost everyone has had a house pet stolen by a street gang, right?”

The pair worked together on Mad TV  and have seen their Comedy Central sketches develop a strong viral following. They have been circling numerous film projects for the past few months, including a Police Academy reboot, an untitled Judd Apatow feature and a spinoff of Mr. Garvey, aka Substitute Teacher, a popular character on the show. ‘They Came Together’ Review

2 September 2014 3:56 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Stars: Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Ellie Kemper, Cobie Smulders, Christopher Meloni, Max GreenfieldEd Helms, Jason Mantzoukas, Melanie Lynskey, Michael Ian Black, Michael Murphy, Kenan Thompson, Jack McBrayer, Ken Marino | Written by David Wain, Michael Showalter | Directed by David Wain

Spoof films are rarely done well. There is so little subtlety in them, and they often result in terribly written and ridiculous slapstick comedy films that mock other films in a very obvious and unrelentingly silly manner (see Scary Movie 4, Date Movie, Disaster Movie, A Haunted House) but this, a satire more than a spoof, finally shows the pretenders how it’s done, bringing a softer hand to a genre that is flooded with terribly over-bearing abominations.

Directed by David Wain (Role Models, Wanderlust) who co-writes it alongside Michael Showalter (Wet Hot American Summer), They Came Together is something of a throwback, reminiscent of older spoof-comedy films like Airplane. »

In Defense of ‘The Leftovers’: Faith, Forgiveness and Damon Lindelof

29 July 2014 11:15 AM, PDT | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

Damon Lindelof’s latest TV effort, The Leftovers on HBO (co-created by and adapted from the novel by Tom Perrotta)  just hit the halfway mark through its first season on Sunday, and it’s easily the best new show to premiere this summer. This comes with two disclosures: 1. Summers are usually treated more like draughts than harvesting season for TV networks so 2. The competition is usually (and specifically this year) lackluster. For example, this year you have AMC’s disappointingly tone-deaf Halt and Catch Fire, while on FX you have Guillermo Del Toro’s The Strain struggling to decide if it’s good-bad or just bad-bad. Despite a lightweight competition, The Leftovers still holds its title of best new Summer show, a title that is earned despite the show winning it by default.

After each episode I look to recaps across the internet to further the discussion and interpretation of the show, »

Justin Theroux Speaks about Tabloid Hassles

Justin Theroux took a dramatic turn with The Leftovers, but he's still got a sense of humor.

These days, the 42-year-old TV star's ability to laugh is especially commendable, given that the tabloids frequently write about his two-year engagement to Jennifer Aniston as if it were a real-life soap opera.

"I can't get over how terrible the narrative is, just how poorly written it is," he says in Elle's August 2014 issue. "It's worse than a telenovela. It's so dramatic. Like, 'They're broken up, they're together, they're storming out, storming in, rushing out, rushing in.' They make every celebrity look like a schizophrenic."

From the moment he began dating his Wanderlust co-star, Theroux admits, "My life changed a lot. More people are like, 'Hey, man!' And I don't think that's from my role in John Adams. But it only changed as much as I engaged with it, and I »

Justin Theroux Says Loving Jennifer Aniston Isn't "Difficult" & He Doesn't Hate The Paparazzi

10 July 2014 3:15 PM, PDT | TooFab | See recent TooFab news »

Justin Theroux seems pretty happy with his life! "The Leftovers" star covers the August issue of Details magazine, where he opens up about his fiancée, Jennifer Aniston, and talks about dealing with the limelight. When it comes to the "Friends" star, Justin says being with Jen is pretty easy. "It doesn't feel like a hardship," the HBO star tells the mag. "It doesn't feel difficult." Jen has had to deal with tabloid fodder about her personal relationships ever since she dated and divorced Brad Pitt, and while the paparazzi don't really get to Theroux, they can be an "annoyance" at times when he's out with the "Horrible Bosses" star."It can be an annoyance, but it's not the end of the world," he says. "You have to center on what its core thing is, which is that you met someone you fell in love with. It's hard to explain. I just find myself wondering, »

Come Undone: Wain’s Cliché Buster Episodically Funny

Every now and then, director David Wain delivers a great film with his certain brand of offbeat humor darkly shining, particularly with Role Models (2008) and Wet Hot American Summer (2001). At the very least, his less successful ventures feature standout performances from someone in his regular crew of comedic comrades (Michaela Watkins in Wanderlust, for instance). But arriving with the Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd headlined They Came Together (yeah, it’s supposed to mean that, too), finds Wain at his most strained since the episodically structured The Ten. Except, this film might have actually benefitted from a string of vignettes harpooning ridiculous rom-com tropes rather than the befuddling exercise at hand centered on two people that we’re watching solely as performers engaging in sketches rather than actual characters, utilizing a variety of broad comedic styles that feel lifted from the likes of The Naked Gun. »

They Came Together Review

27 June 2014 11:19 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

[This is a re-post of my review from the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.  They Came Together opens today in limited release and on VOD] When director David Wain does his own thing, it may not be for everyone, but he’s also at his best. His more mainstream films, Role Models and Wanderlust, are entertaining, but his work on The State, Stella, and the classic Wet Hot American Summer is distinct, absurd, bold, and painfully funny. His latest, They Came Together, is Wain embracing his unique comic voice as he turns to mock one of Hollywood’s easiest targets, the romantic comedy. Despite the easily apparent flaws of that genre, Wain and co-writer Michael Showalter not only poke fun at the obvious tropes, but also let their delightfully twisted comedy burst through. Further supported by Paul Rudd brilliantly and brutally skewering his familiar leading man persona, They Came Together doesn’t bring the rom-com to its knees, but it does deliver a well-deserved gut punch. During a double-date with their friends (played by Bill Hader »
