In closed session, Jane establishes that Dawn used a forged request to get Eli's medical records. Everyone seems to regard this as a minor invasion of privacy. Actually, that is a violation of the Privacy Law component of HIPAA, a federal law governing access to health information. Violation can result in prosecution in federal court and quite a few people have gone to federal prison for illigally obtaining and publishing health information. See more
