Barry J. Gillis started shooting Wicked World in 1990. A "crude" rough edit of the feature film was edited. Gillis was never happy with the rough cut of the film, which had gaps in the sound, and he just felt that the film was not up "to par" with what it could, or should be. So he put all of the footage into storage for many years until he had the money to properly complete post production. The film haunted him on various levels, and he wasn't sure when he would be truly ready to finish and release it.
Red Letter Media called it, "The worst movie ever made..."
The band that is often referenced throughout the film, Marshall Law, is used as the soundtrack for the majority of the film. Steve Madden, Founded, and was Leader of the Band Marshall Law.
