Top 10 Most Highly Anticipated Sci-Fi & Fantasy Movies of 2013

26 December 2012 8:44 AM, PST | Reelzchannel.com | See recent ReelzChannel news »

"You will give the people an ideal to strive towards...you will help them accomplish wonders."

This has been an incredible year for sci-fi and fantasy fans alike. Blade Runner and Alien director Ridley Scott returned to sci-fi after a 30-year hiatus with the visually stunning and highly divisive Prometheus, while the superhero sub-genre of sci-fi continued its ascension, with The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises claiming the first and second spots on the list of the highest-grossing movies of the year. Fantasy fans had fewer options in 2012, but they flocked to theaters to see two Kristen Stewart-led movies — Snow White and the Huntsman and Breaking Dawn: Part 2 — and to return to J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth with Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

The coming year in movies promises to be just as epic for genre fans, filled with dozens of big budget movies populated by superheroes, »

Mark Millar Teases The Production Of More Millarworld And Fox Comic Book Movies

21 December 2012 3:04 PM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

In a Christmas message to users of his Millarworld Forums, Mark Millar has let slip some very interesting details about what we should expect when it comes to both the adaptations of his creator owned properties And Fox's plans for more Marvel movies. The fact that The Secret Service is still being planned for a 2013 shoot doesn't necessarily take director Matthew Vaughn out of the running for Star Wars Episode VII as there's nothing to say he couldn't get to work on that immediately after. As for what the other movies Fox may be planning are, well, your guess is as good as mine at this point! Be sure to click on the link below to read the statement in full. As you know, Hit-Girl and the Kick-Ass 2 graphic novel fuse together into the screenplay for Kick-Ass 2 (out next June) and Secret Service is already deep underway for »

Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell go to war with magic in 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone' trailer

I have a feeling 2013 is going to be a very good year for Jim Carrey fans. I may not love everything Carrey's ever done, but I remain convinced that he is one of the wildest, most exciting talents working in film right now.  When he connects with a project, the results are intoxicating, and if everything I've seen and read turns out to be correct, both "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" and "Kick-Ass 2" are going to turn out to be great examples of what he can do with the right script. The amount of behind-the-scenes work that went into creating ParaNorman should be worth an award by itself. New featurettes for the Chris Butler and Sam Fell film are reminding the academy voters that the animated feature is the "most ambitious stop-motion film ever made." Even for those of you who enjoyed the film, these featurettes reveal a lot of hidden details in certain scenes and will give you a whole new appreciation for the work that went into bringing ParaNorman to the screen. Sequels – Love them or hate them, here’s what’s coming!

7 December 2012 2:01 AM, PST | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Sequels, prequels, reboots and reduxes. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly of those being made… Some we still have no idea what they’re about, or if they will be made, but they are rumoured – chances are, [hopefully] they *won’t* be made.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey- December 14th, 2012

It’s not really a sequel, but rather a prequel which features the cast of The Lord of the Rings in an expanded version of the classic book.

A Good Day to Die Hard- February 14th, 2013

Rumored to be the final in the Die Hard series, Bruce Willis must fight Russian terrorists in Russia with his son.

Oz: The Great and Powerful- March 8th, 2013

This will actually be a prequel to the 1939 classic, depicting the story of how Oz came to be.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation- March 29th, 2013

Starring mostly everyone in the first movie, as »
