"You will give the people an ideal to strive towards...you will help them accomplish wonders."
This has been an incredible year for sci-fi and fantasy fans alike. Blade Runner and Alien director Ridley Scott returned to sci-fi after a 30-year hiatus with the visually stunning and highly divisive Prometheus, while the superhero sub-genre of sci-fi continued its ascension, with The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises claiming the first and second spots on the list of the highest-grossing movies of the year. Fantasy fans had fewer options in 2012, but they flocked to theaters to see two Kristen Stewart-led movies — Snow White and the Huntsman and Breaking Dawn: Part 2 — and to return to J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth with Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
The coming year in movies promises to be just as epic for genre fans, filled with dozens of big budget movies populated by superheroes, »

In a Christmas message to users of his Millarworld Forums, Mark Millar has let slip some very interesting details about what we should expect when it comes to both the adaptations of his creator owned properties And Fox's plans for more Marvel movies. The fact that The Secret Service is still being planned for a 2013 shoot doesn't necessarily take director Matthew Vaughn out of the running for Star Wars Episode VII as there's nothing to say he couldn't get to work on that immediately after. As for what the other movies Fox may be planning are, well, your guess is as good as mine at this point! Be sure to click on the link below to read the statement in full. As you know, Hit-Girl and the Kick-Ass 2 graphic novel fuse together into the screenplay for Kick-Ass 2 (out next June) and Secret Service is already deep underway for »
I have a feeling 2013 is going to be a very good year for Jim Carrey fans. I may not love everything Carrey's ever done, but I remain convinced that he is one of the wildest, most exciting talents working in film right now. When he connects with a project, the results are intoxicating, and if everything I've seen and read turns out to be correct, both "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" and "Kick-Ass 2" are going to turn out to be great examples of what he can do with the right script. Don Scardino, the director of this film, started as »

The amount of behind-the-scenes work that went into creating ParaNorman should be worth an award by itself. New featurettes for the Chris Butler and Sam Fell film are reminding the academy voters that the animated feature is the "most ambitious stop-motion film ever made." Using cutting-edge technology in the form of fully-articulated puppets and 3D printing, just to name a few, the creative army behind ParaNorman is still a devoted group of craftspeople at their core. Even for those of you who enjoyed the film, these featurettes reveal a lot of hidden details in certain scenes and will give you a whole new appreciation for the work that went into bringing ParaNorman to the screen. Featuring the voices of Kodi Smit-McPhee, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Anna Kendrick, John Goodman, Leslie Mann and Tucker Albrizzi, ParaNorman is now available on DVD/Blu-ray. Hit the jump to check out the featurette. Check out the »

"...inspired by the masked vigilante 'Kick-Ass", the identity of 'Night Bitch' is unknown, as is her questionable past.
"Armed with a long pole that matches the color of her costume, she joined 'Justice Forever' and participated in their first mission, to shut down a human trafficking organization..."
"...Hit-Girl trains Kick-Ass to be a better hero while the two try to keep their real identities a secret. »

We've plucked 13 potential little beauties out of the 2013 UK film line-up, feat. sci-fi, comic-book, horror, comedy, thriller & more...
Look ahead to the UK films coming out in 2013 and you’ll see a diverse landscape of filmmakers, genres, actors, budgets and ideas. Next year brings us something new from Joanna Hogg, and something else from Danny Dyer. Irvine Welsh’s Filth will almost certainly live up to its title, but the Absolutely Fabulous film? We’ll see.
Al Pacino’s playing King Lear, and Stephen Mangan’s playing Postman Pat. Shane Meadows is making a film about the Tour de France, and Nigel Cole is making a film about an otter. Steve Coogan will be a porn baron, Bridget Jones will have a baby, Nick Frost will dance the salsa, Martin Freeman will save Santa, and Sean Bean, bless the man, will probably die.

Fast forward two months, and it’s now officially wrapped. Jeff Wadlow took to Twitter on Friday to announce that the film has officially wrapped production here in the UK, and now all we have to do is wait for its arrival in the height of Summer 2013.
