Watch this if...you are looking for an entertaining sci-fi film that appeals to both kids and adults. Very engaging from start to finish and has something for everyone.
Acting/Casting: 8* - A extremely nice job of casting and acting from top to bottom. The actors do a great job (especially the kids) making their characters identifiable and believable. I was a huge fan of Riley Griffiths as the bossy kid in the bunch.
Directing/Cinematography/Technical: 8* - As expected J.J. Abrams does a great job in directing and making the film visually stunning. You really have to admire his work in both departments and Super 8 is a perfect example of how to direct and make a good movie.
Plot/Characters: 7* - A fairly interesting plot that keeps you on your toes while you are trying to figure out what is going on. It is your typical coming of age flick with a heavy sci-fi theme thrown in, but it does both of these things really well.
Entertainment Value: 7* - Overall an entertaining movie that I would highly recommend to anyone that asked my opinion. It has a great blend of suspense, comedy, action, and drama that makes it very appealing to almost anyone. I would watch again and will likely purchase in the near future.
My Score: 8+8+7+7 = 30/4 = 7.5
