A biographical documentary about the great "Champion Without a Crown", Mauro Mina Baylon, who rose from humble origins in rural Peru to become a 1960s international boxing sensation. While following Mina's inspiring yet bittersweet career, the film offers a critical look at social and racial attitudes in Latin America, the role of the media and the curious politics of the boxing world. It features interviews with journalists, friends and boxing luminaries including Bob Foster, Angelo Dundee, Jose "Chegui" Torres, Hank Kaplan, Alberto Best and Ricardo Delgado.
