Clash of the Titans 3 not planned

30 December 2013 3:08 AM, PST | TotalFilm | See recent TotalFilm news »

If you're looking forward to a third outing of Sam Worthington's mythological beastie-bashing action series, you could be disappointed. The producer of both Clash and Wrath of the Titans has said there are no plans to resurrect the franchise.   Talking to IGN, Basil Iwanyk didn't completely rule out its return, but he was far from positive either when questioned on whether fans can look forward to Clash of the Titans 3.   "Not at this point, but you never know," he said. "In terms of Clash of the Titans 3, it's one of those situations...

Clash of the Titans 3 not in the works

27 December 2013 7:23 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

A third Clash of the Titans film is not currently in the works.

Producer Basil Iwanyk has admitted that there have been a glut of Ancient Greek fantasy epics and that a new film will not go into development until the filmmakers have a "fresh" idea for a follow-up.

"In terms of Clash of the Titans 3, it's one of those situations where we've seen it a million times - a movie will kind of float away and then come back when it's supposed to come back," he told IGN.

"You'd think that there was three and a half, four years of nonstop Clash of the Titans activity, and I think it is, 'Okay, what's the new idea? How do you make it fresh?' You know, a lot of movies have come out in that world, including Immortals and 300.

"So there will be a time and place where someone will »

‘Clash of the Titans 3′ Not Happening Without ‘Fresh’ Ideas

26 December 2013 9:42 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Warner Bros.Clash of the Titans remake was a hit at the box office in 2010 – despite (at best) lukewarm feelings towards the 3D mythological adventure – and so, two years later, the studio rolled out a second installment in the shape of Wrath of the Titans, and started developing a third chapter in the saga of Perseus (Sam Worthington). Wrath of the Titans was given a (slightly) warmer critical reaction than Clash, but the franchise suffered a substantial drop off in worldwide gross between movies ($493 million to $305 million), and has since laid dormant.

The ancient world/swords and sandal sub-genre will be back in full-force in 2014, with the release of titles like ...

Clash of the Titans 3 Has Been Put on Indefinite Hold

26 December 2013 7:33 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Back in November 2011, months before the Clash of the Titans sequel Wrath of the Titans opened in theaters, Warner Bros. put Clash of the Titans 3 in development, hiring Dan Mazeau and David Johnson to write the script.

We haven't heard anything regarding the sequel since then, and, according to producer Basil Iwanyk, the project isn't moving forward at this time.

"Not at this point, but you never know. In terms of Clash of the Titans 3, it's one of those situations where we've seen it a million times; a movie will kind of float away and then come back when it's supposed to come back. Clash of the Titans producer says there are no plans for a third film

26 December 2013 12:23 AM, PST | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

Even though critics didn't love 2010's Clash Of The Titans, it was still pretty successful at the box office, earning $493 million worldwide ($162 million domestically) against a $125 million budget. Last year's sequel Wrath Of The Titans wasn't as profitable ($221 million in foreign markets, $83 million domestically), and once again, critics tore it apart. But did the sequel earn enough to warrant another film, and is there any interest in making one? IGN »

New character images from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

20th Century Fox gave us our first look at Dawn of the Planet of the Apes last week with the release of the official teaser trailer for the simian sequel, and now we have three new character images from the follow-up to 2011's critically acclaimed Apes reboot, featuring Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises) and Keri Russell (Mission: Impossible III)...

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set for release on July 11th 2014, with a cast that also includes »

Fall of the Titans? "Clash 3" On Hold

24 December 2013 6:52 AM, PST | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

The remake of "Clash of the Titans" opened to scathing reviews and modest domestic box-office, but the global audience turned it into a hit with a $493 million global gross on a $125 million budget.

It was enough to green light 2012's sequel "Wrath of the Titans," a film that cost a bit more ($150 million) and made considerably less - $305 million. Talk of a potential third film in the series though seemed to die there.

Cut to this week and producer Basil Iwanyk tells IGN that while a third installment is possible, there aren't any plans for it at the moment:

"In terms of 'Clash of the Titans 3,' it's one of those situations where a movie will float away and then come back when it's supposed to come back. I think it is, 'Okay, what's the new idea? How do you make it fresh?' A lot of movies have come out in that world, »

Plans For Another Clash Of The Titans Movie Scrapped

If you were hoping for the further adventures of Aussie Perseus (Sam Worthington) and his interchangeable pals you may be disappointed, as producer Basil Iwanyk has revealed to IGN that any plans for a third Titans movie are currently on hold. Despite being slightly better that Clash Of The Titans (which grossed $493.2 million worldwide), its sequel Wrath Of The Titans failed to do as well at the box office..and that usually means the death of a franchise. Asked outright if there were plans for a third movie, Iwanyk replied: “Not at this point, but you never know. Clash of the Titans 3 May Be Permanently Dead

24 December 2013 12:25 AM, PST | WorstPreviews.com | See recent Worst Previews news »

Back in 2010, Warner Bros released its remake of "Clash of the Titans." The plan was to develop a trilogy, but the first slightly underperformed with box office earnings of $493 million on a budget of $125 million. Despite poor reviews (28% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes), the studio was hoping that things will improve, greenlighting a sequel in 2012. But the sequel, called "Wrath of the Titans," was worse in every category. Not only did it gross only $305 million on a budget of $150 million, but the RottenTomatoes fresh rating dropped to a lousy 25%. Now, in a new interview, "Clash of the Titans" producer Basil Iwanyk revealed that a third installment is not currently in the works. "In terms of 'Clash of the Titans 3,' it's one of those situations where a movie will float away and then come back when it's supposed to come back," he said. Third Clash of the Titans Film Turned to Stone

When Warner Bros. released its remake of Clash of the Titans a few years ago, the plan was to do a trilogy of films. Thus far we had a single sequel in Wrath of the Titans and no word on the proposed third film until now.

IGN recently caught up with Basil Iwanyk, who produced both Clash and Wrath. Here's what he shared regarding completion of the trilogy.

Filmmaker Peter Segal ("Get Smart," "Grudge Match") says that the long-gestating live action movie based on the classic 1960's Hanna-Barbera sci-fi adventure series" Jonny Quest" movie is still in the works.

Segal has been attached to the Warner Bros. Pictures project since 2008 and tells ComingSoon that he hopes it'll be the next film of his to go forward:

"I would love to make that my next movie. We just hired a writer to do another pass. We already have a very good script. Then we go through budgeting hell and trying to get it into shape."

"Quest" told the thrilling stories of a young boy who accompanied his scientist father on extraordinary escapades investigating scientific mysteries around the world.

Joining him was his adopted brother from Calcutta, his pet bulldog pup, and the government agent assigned to protect them. The original one-season series was revived in the 80's and 90's on the Cartoon Network. »

Duncan Jones' Warcraft Adds Clancy Brown And Daniel Wu To The Cast

18 December 2013 8:04 PM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

With his debut feature Moon< director Duncan Jones really only had Sam Rockwell to worry about as far as actors went. He moved onto about four or five major players for 2011.s Source Code, and will undoubtedly be dealing with a lot more for his next film, Warcraft, the potentially epic adaptation of the insanely popular game franchise. The film.s cast has grown by two today, as Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu (The Man With the Iron Fists) and veteran supporting actor Clancy Brown (The Green Mile) have both signed onto the Universal and Legendary Pictures production. The two actors join the previously announced Ben Foster (Kill Your Darlings), Travis Fimmel (Vikings), Robert Kazinsky (True Blood), Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans) and Paula Patton (2 Guns). While there is unquestionably a high level of talent present within this group, it.s not exactly your typical tentpole cast and doesn »

'Schindler's List': 25 Things You Didn't Know About the Landmark Holocaust Drama

15 December 2013 1:00 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

"Schindler's List" already looked like an instant classic the moment it was released 20 years ago this week (on December 15, 1993). Shot in timeless black-and-white, Steven Spielberg's based-in-fact account of Oskar Schindler, the German industrialist who saved 1,200 Jews from the Polish city of Krakow during the Holocaust by putting them on his factory payroll, became a landmark film, becoming the definitive depiction of the Holocaust for many viewers around the world. It also made a star out of Ralph Fiennes, an A-lister out of Liam Neeson, and an Oscar-winner out of Spielberg, who proved once and for all that he was not just a director of kiddie fantasies.

Two decades have done nothing but burnish the film's reputation as an artistic masterpiece and educational tool. Still, even though everyone's seen it, there's plenty you probably don't know about how it got made, from the project's birth in a Beverly Hills luggage store, »
