Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles director Jonathan Liebesman has signed on to direct Man at Arms, which was first announced back in October 2010. Producer Basil Iwanyk's Thunder Road Pictures has picked up the project, which offers a much different take on the legend of King Arthur. The news comes just a few weeks after Warner Bros. started production on their own King Arthur tale, entitled Knights of the Round Table. As it turns out, though, both project will not have too much in common.
Man at Arms follows a much older Sir Lancelot, as he feels remorseful for his affair with Queen Guinevere, which ended up destroying King Arthur's Camelot. The story, which Deadline compares to Clint Eastwood's Western classic Unforgiven, finds Lancelot trying to make amends for the affair. Echo Lake originally acquired the project as a pitch from writer Jeremy Lott back in 2010, but the company is no longer involved. »
If a retelling of Romeo & Juliet in the style of 300 didn't sound good, maybe a different approach to King Arthur will be more your speed. Like many of you, I was pretty surprised and more than a little bit delighted when Liam Neeson made the next act in his illustrious career an action packed one. No one expected Taken to be a hit, or as satisfyingly enjoyable as it was, but it signaled a new trajectory for Neeson. That’s been all well and good, but one thing that it’s cost us is his performances in Oscar fare. Since Taken, Neeson has more or less dropped off of the Academy’s radar, with only one upcoming project hopefully set to return him to prestige territory. I like when he kicks ass, like he does in Friday’s new release Run All Night, but I prefer it when he contends for awards. Neeson is a very strong dramatic actor and certainly very solid as an action hero, but it’s the former where he’s really been able to shine. »

Sony Pictures has tapped Matt Milam as VP of creative production.
Milam comes to Sony from Skydance, where he served as VP of production; before that he was with Warner Bros.
“We are tremendously excited about Matt joining the Columbia team,” said Michael De Luca, president of production. “We’ve followed his career from Warners to Skydance and have been utterly impressed with both his talent and his taste.”
At Skydance, Milam most recently worked on the Dean Devlin project “Geostorm” and, during his time at WB, he worked on projects that included “Clash of the Titans,” “Wrath of the Titans,” “Terminator Salvation” and “The Informant!”
Prior to Warner Bros., Milam acted as creative exec at Mandate Pictures, helping oversee “Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay,” “The Grudge 2″ and “30 Days of Night.” He received co-producer credit on “Boogeyman 2,” for which he oversaw the development, production and post-production. »

The first thing you'll notice about this maiden trailer for Disney's live-action "Cinderella" movie is that there are no singing or dancing mice. Not a one. That should tell you right off the bat that this is serious fairy tale business.
You know the story, don't you? The trailer starts off with the same old "Cinderella" vibe, but this gal's got a bit of an edge.
