In 2009, the Internet went crazy over a rumor that Neil Patrick Harris would play The Flash in a big screen "Justice League" movie. That didn’t happen — Ezra Miller got the job and Harris settled with voicing the character in a direct-to-dvd animated film. But now it’s looking like "Gone Girl" costar could finally get a superheroic boost from the team behind CW’s "The Flash." They’ll be feeding Harris his lines when he takes on hosting duties for the 87th Academy Awards. Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced that writer, producer and director Greg Berlanti joins the team as head writer for his first Oscars telecast. The name should be familiar to anyone absorbed in comic book movie/TV sagas; Berlanti’s writing credits include the television series “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Everwood” and “Dawson’s Creek,” and the feature films “Wrath of the Titans” and “Green Lantern. »

10 November 2014 6:15 PM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Earlier tonight, actor Toby Kebbell (Dead Man's Shoes, Wrath Of The Titans, Warcraft) sent fans into a right tizzy when he revealed a few details about his take on Doctor Doom in Josh Trank's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. It turns out this incarnation of the classic Marvel villain will be a computer programmer named Victor Domashev, and he will use the blogger ID "Doom". A lot of people were already on the fence about this movie, and this will surely have knocked 'em off on the "this sounds bloody rubbish" side of the garden. Here is the video interview, in which Kebbel also spills some new info on the voice he'll be using for Domashev. He says that was the one thing he felt he could fully influence, and though he's playing him with an American accent, he wanted to add in a foreign inflection. I always try to »

'Something Wicked This Way Comes' Adds 'Walking Dead' Writer

30 October 2014 7:14 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Disney has hired screenwriter David Johnson (Wrath of the Titans) to pen the screenplay for their Something Wicked This Way Comes remake.

Based on the Ray Bradbury novel of the same name, Something Wicked This Way Comes centers on a teenage boy whose sleepy Midwestern hometown becomes overrun by a carnival, with a mysterious leader who can grant any wish, at a sinister cost. We first reported on the project back in March, when Seth Grahame-Smith signed on to make his directorial debut.

Disney previously adapted the novel into the 1983 fantasy adventure Something Wicked This Way Comes, which starred Jason Robards, Jonathan Pryce and Diane Ladd.

Seth Grahame-Smith is also producing alongside his KatzSmith Productions partner David Katzenberg. It isn't known when production may begin at this time.

David Johnson's big-screen credits include Orphan and Red Riding Hood, and he has also written for TV shows such as The Walking Dead »

"Skull Island," "Wicked" Get New Writers

Two high-profile projects have just scored new screenwriters.

"Flight" and "Real Steel" screenwriter John Gatins has been hired to rewrite the script for "Skull Island," Legendary's King Kong prequel that explores the creature's home island.

Gatins takes over from Max Borenstein ("Godzilla," "Seventh Son") who penned the initial script. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is directing and Tom Hiddleston is slated to star in the project.

Meanwhile, "Wrath of the Titans" writer David Leslie Johnson has come onboard the film adaptation of Ray Bradbury's 1962 fantasy novel "Something Wicked This Way Comes" at Disney Pictures.

Seth Grahame-Smith helms the story of two teen boys in a small Midwestern town visited by a carnival. The carnival's leader is able to grant wishes, but at a terrible price.

Something Wicked This Way Comes Adaptation Adds Wrath Of The Titans Writer

30 October 2014 3:39 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

With Halloween coming up tomorrow, new information about Disney’s adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s seminal October novel Something Wicked This Way Comes seems rather apropos. The planned film version of the fantastic novel already has a director in the form of author/screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith, and now, it also has a writer: Wrath of the Titans scribe David Leslie Johnson.

Something Wicked This Way Comes is based on the Bradbury novel of the same name, and tells the story of two adolescent boys whose small Midwestern town is invaded by a traveling circus. The circus, and its head honcho Mr. Dark, promise to give the townfolk all they ever wanted, but at much higher price than a sideshow ticket. The novel has been adapted by Disney once before, in a version featuring Jonathan Pryce as Mr. Dark.

The Bennet Sisters Have Swords Drawn in First 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' Picture

I have no idea why they finally greenlit the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies movie adaptation, especially after the lackluster response to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a film I admittedly liked more than most (he threw a cow!), but have no problem understanding why many were turned off. Now, after several years of trying to get it off the ground, yet another Seth Grahme-Smith adaptation is on the way and just above is your first look at the Bennet sisters with their swords drawn courtesy of EW. The film stars Lily James (Wrath of the Titans) as Elizabeth alongside her sisters Jane (Bella Heathcote), Lydia (Ellie Bamber), Mary (Millie Brady) and Kitty (Suki Waterhouse) as it tells the story of the Bennet sisters and their time as zombie slayers after being taught how to fight like Japanese ninjas by Mr Darcy (Sam Riley). Ror Reviews: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I think it's fair to say that fans didn't like the sound of a single thing about this Tmnt reboot from the moment they heard it was going to be produced by Michael Bay, and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans, Battle La). Then came the news that Shredder would be a white dude named Sachs, the (mis)casting of Megan Fox as April O'Neil, the first reveal of the massive, hulking new Turtles -- basically, a miracle was needed to get the Heroes in a Half Shell faithful back on board.  But then when promotion kicked in properly, some of the trailers/clips got a few laughs, many got used to the Turtle designs, and complete nerd-rage started to subside a little -- to the point where many even wished the movie well and hoped for the best. Well, you most certainly didn't get the best, but »
