Storyline

Ben is in Cooper's bad books and keeps silent when his mentor sides with a child-beating mother and arrests a man from driving under influence from prescription painkillers, while Cooper is dependent on illegal pills. Businesman Peter Wellington's spoiled wife Katherine files a complaint as latest victim of a serial rapist but is uncooperative and dubiously identifies Latino gardener Sergio Moreno, a family father, who panics and makes a tragic run. Cooper testifies against his father being released after 20 years as model prisoner, who even earned a college degree.

The Winds Episode the Best So Far ****

Outstanding episode depicted here. Regina King really shows what she is worth. The round eyes showing, she is suspicious, sympathetic and realistic to all concerned. She was wonderful here.

This episode deals with filing false claims and the ramifications it has on the suspects. Other sidebar issues include a dog being nearly killed by a snake, and a young black boy, abandoned by his parents. The child is shown sympathy by the police officer, but there is only so little that the officer can do. The child, feeling betrayed, says the four letter word to the officer and another anti-officer is born.

The most poignant part of this excellent episode is where the same police officer goes to a parole board meeting to recommend that his father is not freed. It was heart-wrenching to say the least.

This was an excellent show.
