Storyline

The murder of a Latino gang member seems another rivalry victim, but Nate and Sammy learn from a local, soon shot himself, that he was the Romeo of a black gang's near-irresistible Juliette, starting a murder wave requiring full precinct mobilization. Ben's colleagues make fun of him for. Dewey is finally back on patrol, driving already depressed first Cooper nearly crazy. Written by KGF Vissers

Quotes

Detective Daniel Salinger: Remember the face. It's the reason we drag our sorry asses to work every morning in the service of a city that just doesn't give a damn. Fighting Gang Crime is like punching water. No matter how hard you hit, you just can't leave a dent. Weekend disharmony
23 January 2017 | by See all my reviews

'Punching Water' lures you into a false sense of security; for a while, Between Sherman's dalliance with the infamous badge bunny Sally, and Dewey's intolerable new-agey shtick (Cooper: "If I have to hear more about AA, I'll bring back the Daryl Gates choke-hold myself!"). Even when there's a gang war breaking out, the balance between light and dark is maintained. But the MLK weekend turns bloody, racial tensions (even among the police) come to a head, and the intensity is heightened yet again.

Eventually, the right people go to jail, time cards are punched and it's just one more day on the streets. And like clockwork, Tammi's there at the very end to get under our skin.
