Ariel is having a difficult time time. She seems to be jumping ahead in time but without any memories of what has happened in the intervening period. She is babysitting for her teacher, Mrs. Lisa Kerrigan, when she finds the woman in the living room shot through the head. She then jumps forward a short time to where the police want a statement from her. The biggest jump occurs where it is now 10 years into the future. She is married to a high school sweetheart Liam and has a 5 year-old child but in her mind, she still a teenager in high school. Ariel's future self begins to have visions of what happened the night Mrs. Kerrigan was killed. When Lisa's balaclava-wearing killer is identified as the mother of her child, the evidence seems to support that her husband Daniel is the killer. There is another answer however. Ariel keeps losing longer and longer increments of time.
8 May 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

As a composer and fan of film for fifty-five years(or so), I was completely blown away by the Medium episode shown on 05/07/10. It was more like a really heavy Twilight Zone story. You really had to pay attention to where Ariel was in her life as she realized she was losing time and getting older. I don't remember seeing or reading any story that used this technique to solve the mystery at hand. If you didn't see this one, you probably missed one of the best shows of the season. The way she was brought back to the present and her real age was a real mind blower. Sophia was absolutely marvelous. Miguel Sandoval directed. A real top job on this one.
