Did You Know?

This is the only TGWTG anniversary special not to be released to DVD. According to Lewis Lovhaug, there are many contributing factors, such as music rights issues, how the special was shot, as it wasn't formatted for DVD release like the other movies, and because the original master was damaged when Doug Walker experienced a major computer virus in 2011. It can still be viewed on the site, however. See more »

I'm sorry but this is complete crap
1 November 2013 | by (Valhalla) – See all my reviews

This is the absolute worst thing I have seen in regard to internet reviewers. So far, while not technically reviewing they've been entertaining for me to take a look at why they think something's either good or bad. However with this anniversary special it's BORING.

I don't mean just regular boring. This makes Kickassia look like Suburban Knights in terms of Anniversary specials. I mean while in Kickassia they do things that could be entertaining to watch, here all it is is fighting. Almost non stop fighting between internet reviewers and internet gamers. Most prominently the rivalry that I have personally hated - The Nostalgia Critic and The Angry Video Game Nerd. They bring reinforcements from all sides to basically fight. It isn't even in a comedic way (or if it was - it isn't funny). Then Ask That Guy With The Glasses becomes the voice of reason (which is OUT OF CHARACTER!) and then they forgive each other for doing nothing and the special kind of gives up on itself.

What can I say? This is just literally about fighting. In this one to be fair Doug could direct action better than in Kickassia and Suburban Knights but instead of shaky cam that you can't tell what's going on. Here they at least got a tripod.

And that was the Nostalgia Critic's first year anniversary special and MY GOD WAS IT A PIECE OF SH!T. The story is non-existent, the jokes have a questionable presence of whether they were there or not and it's just downright pointless. For the first anniversary couldn't they just do something else? I mean after a few videos I've seen about it I was SICK of the rivalry. And just as a note: Someone who's only goal is to make f#cked up answers to f#cked up questions should NEVER be the voice of reason. I still like internet reviewers, it's just I don't think everything they touch turns to gold (and apply that to every director, actor and writer that I like).
