Rachel fesses up
25 November 2011 | by (New York) – See all my reviews

Rene wanted to surprise Debbie with some bling bling. Her choice of a pair of expensive earrings makes her happy. It represented a big investment for the would be magnate, who is completely lost by Debbie's charms. When his men come to inform him on badly needed cash to pay the supplier, he decides on a move that he will regret: he goes to Debbie with a cheap pair of earrings so he can return the more expensive ones and get badly needed cash. Debbie's reaction is expected, Rene is out of her picture.

Ben and Rachel have been invited to a wedding in Long Island. Kappo Kaplan, who is a guest, goes with them. On the way to the ceremony, Kappo drops a bomb: he might be in trouble for speaking out of term in something that is considered as an inside trading where he made a lot of money for himself and his boss. All that might come to an end. Taking Rachel home, Ben is obviously in a romantic mood. As he gets her to the door, she confesses she has been seeing Domingo, not realizing the effect it has on Ben, who obviously feels betrayed by both of his friends.

Nancy meets with Ben and Cam about the shoot for the new Crisp line. She is not too happy with what the guys have to show her. She wants something more sophisticated. Cam has an idea. How about asking Lulu's father, Felix, to lend them his house to photograph the presentation. Felix is not too keen on the idea, but challenges Cam to a wrestling match. The new brochure shows an edge to it that Nancy adores. She is clearly developing some sort of attraction for Ben, although it is played subtly.

Julian Farino directed the episode. It was written by Seth Zvi Rosenfield. The chapter follows the story line of the program. The highlight of this installment is clearly Ben's reaction when Rachel comes clean about her involvement with Domingo. It is not a racial thing, it is more that Ben feels betrayed from people he considered his friends, more than anything. As expected Mr. Farino gets good acting all around from his young cast.
