Returning to the same stage where he brought his acerbic sense of humor to Hollywood, Ricky Gervais has been named host of the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards, set for Jan. 10, 2016 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The three-hour ceremony serves as the official kick-off to awards season and will be aired live coast to coast from 8-11 p.m. Et on NBC. Here's what NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt had to say in a statement.

"We're excited to have Ricky Gervais back to host the most enjoyable awards show of the season in his own inimitable way. Disarming and surprising, Ricky is ready to honor - and send up - the best work of the year in film and television. Fasten your seats belts."

Gervais hosted the Golden Globes for three consecutive years (2010-12) when the network registered ratings gains from the previous two telecasts. Over that 2010-12 span, the »

Gervais' appearance at the 72nd annual event was also among the highlights from that ceremony. The 73rd Golden Globes will air January 10th on NBC.

Caitlyn Jenner on Copycat Halloween Costumes: I'm In on the Joke

9 September 2015 10:00 AM, PDT | TooFab | See recent TooFab news »

Caitlyn Jenner has a sense of humor about herself. While many websites exploded in outrage when Halloween costumes inspired by the reality star's Vanity Fair cover started popping up on various retail outlets, Jenner herself isn't offended in the least. "I'm in on the joke. No, I don't think it's offensive at all," she says in a new interview with Matt Lauer. "I know the community does, and they've gotten a lot of criticism for doing it. I think it's great." One online petition against one particular version of the costume said that it "reduces that person and community to a stereotype for privileged people to abuse," adding that the get-up will be used to "make fun of [Caitlyn] and our community." While Jenner says the idea of the costume doesn't bother her, the actual construction of some of the looks does. "To be honest with you, I think it's great »

1 June 2015 1:01 PM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Paul Feig chats to us about Spy, working with female comedy stars, and the genius of Jason Statham...

Paul Feig will always, always, always have a special place in our heart for creating the immortal TV series Freaks & Geeks. Now, however, he's given Jason Statham his straight comedy debut in Spy, which arrives in cinemas this coming Friday.

Ahead of the film's release, he spared us some time for a chat. It didn't take long for Statham's name to crop up either...

I was watching Tom Hanks' That Thing You Do the other day, oddly enough. It's you in that, isn't it?

[Laughs] Yes! The DJ!

I finally watched the extended cut. Have you seen that version?

No, no!

I've always liked the movie. And Tom Hanks, of course, directed the film, having come from an acting background like yourself. What kind of tips do you pick up from someone like him? »
