Larry's office is a mess ever since Antoinette took off to care for her dying father. Jeff comes in to go to lunch, something Larry forgot. As the two friends talk, Dino, who has moved into the next office comes to introduce himself to Larry and Jeff. Dino has a request, could he get one cabinet so he can store things? Larry does not see anything wrong in telling the man to go ahead, but Jeff insists in never giving up a cabinet.
Fraiche, a restaurant near Larry's office has become his new hangout. In addition there is a bonus, he has been dating the hostess, Heidi, a beautiful lady that loves to text him adding a smiley face to the message. Larry does not find it cute, he thinks it is obnoxious. Jeff warns Larry to be careful with Heidi because if they split up, where is he going to eat.
Back at the office, Larry sees with horror how Dino has taken two out of three cabinets to store his supplies. In addition to that, he has pasted labels with his name on it and thrown all of Larry's supplies into a mess on the third one. Trying to reason with the man goes nowhere. Calling Antoinette at the hospital, he tells her about the new guy in the office next door. She promises to come in for a day to help. She also reminds him about meeting Richard Lewis at Fraiche. He is already late.
Meeting Lewis, Larry lies about his lateness insisting Dr. Rivkin made him wait 45 minutes before seeing him. Richard Lewis rants about how he will not tolerate that from a doctor and vows never to go see the man again. Larry, making out with Heidi, at her house, is interrupted by her niece, who comes to the room unexpectedly. He tells her off, and takes the occasion to mention how he does not care for the smiley faces in Heidi's texts, which she promises to drop. Heidi asks him for some cash because she forgot to go to her bank. He loans her sixty dollars.
Antoinette has come and straightened Larry's office. She gets a phone call in which the person tells her about the father's death. She leaves right away without taking the cabinet issue with Dino. Larry has to go to Dr. Rivkin. He prescribes a sun blocker to protect his face and head. The doctor wants him to schedule an appointment for a physical. At his house, Larry and Heidi are relaxing in the patio. He asks Heidi to apply the sun blocker and reminds her about the money she borrowed. Heidi is offended and walks out. He falls asleep under the blazing sun.
Attending Antoinette's father funeral, Larry shows a red face where a smiley face shows clearly on his forehead, the work of Heidi. His assistant is taking it very badly. Richard Lewis, having caught Larry in the lie, is also at the memorial service, as well as Dr. Rivkin, who is going to play "Danny Boy" as the coffin goes into the grave. Larry, realizes Lewis is pretty upset, and sneaks out of the chapel.
As the funeral procession goes on the highway, an upset Dr. Rivkin, asks Larry to pull to the side. The doctor confronts Larry about his lie, both end up missing the burial. Larry was offered help in the office by Antoinette's mother. He had also lied to another friend as an excuse for not going to dinner by suggesting Jeff was having marital problems, which got to Susie's ears. Jeff, who came to the office is seen consoling the weeping widow, at the same time that Susie enters the building looking to get even with Jeff.

One of the points in the program is how people lie as an excuse, which in this case, backfired tenfold. The other themes are how people conveniently forget to repay loans and taking over when an offer to share a space is done in a friendly manner.
