UK TV ratings: Home Fires tops Sunday ratings with 4.7m

Home Fires topped the ratings on Sunday (June 7), according to overnight figures.

ITV's World War II-era drama returned after a two-week break with 4.74m (22.2%) at 9pm, with a further 255,000 (1.7%) tuning in on +1.

Earlier in the evening, Catchphrase entertained 1.72m (10.7%) at 6.30pm (182k/1.0% on +1), before Celebrity Squares continued with 1.86m (10.3%) at 7.15pm (80k/0.4%).

Sunday Night at the Palladium appealed to 3.05m (14.8%) at 8pm (221k/1.0%).

Over on ITV2, Love Island opened to 434k (2.2%) at 9pm, as the revived reality show hosted by Caroline Flack got started in Mallorca.

BBC One's Formula One coverage was the second most-watched programme of the evening with 4.62m (25.0%) tuning in for the Canadian Grand Prix at 6.30pm. The latest episode of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell brought in 1.78m (8.3%) at 9pm.

Sunday Night at the Palladium: ITV, 8pm

In the last Sunday Night at the Palladium of the series, Jack Whitehall presents as a whole host of talented stars take to the stage.

There's music from Leona Lewis, Jess Glynne and Simply Red as well as comedy from Sara Pascoe and Britain's Got Talents' Jack Carroll.

Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr, Jack Dee for Channel 4 Comedy Gala 2015

The first stars have been announced for Channel 4's Comedy Gala Live 2015.

Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Jack Dee are among the comedians who will appear at the charity event, which returns to London's O2 arena for a sixth year on Friday, May 15.

Aisling Bea, Jason Byrne, Jon Richardson, Josh Widdicombe, Katherine Ryan, Kevin Bridges and Michael McIntyre have also been confirmed for this year's show.

Paul Chowdhry, Rich Hall, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Sara Pascoe, Sean Lock , Seann Walsh, Shappi Khorsandi and Warwick Davis complete the first line-up announcement, with more acts to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The Comedy Gala will be recorded and aired as a two-hour special on Channel 4 later this year. This year's show is dedicated to the event's founder, talent agent Addison Cresswell, who passed away in December 2013.

The annual event is held to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
