The Critic tries to absolve John Hughes from any wrongdoing in the writing of this movie and blames it on the second credited writer, dubbing him "the other guy." The other guy is Bill Walsh, the man who wrote the original Absent-Minded Professor movies, which were later remade as Flubber (1997). Walsh died in 1975, so he had no involvement in the remake whatsoever. Hughes rewrote Walsh's original screenplay. See more »
