After teasing fans on social media with a series of clues about her latest music video-short film-mystery project, Selena Gomez has unveiled “Bad Liar,” the poster for which she shared three times on Instagram on Monday, June 12. The poster reads “a film by Jesse Peretz,” though the “film” is a music video in which Gomez plays three separate characters. (She previously released a different “Bad Liar” music video exclusively on Spotify).

IFC Greenlights Scripted Comedy ‘Living With Yourself’ From ‘The Daily Show’ Producer

IFC has ordered new scripted comedy “Living With Yourself” to series, Variety has learned.

The series comes from “The Daily Show” exec producer Tim Greenberg, who will write and executive produce. Jeff Blitz (“The Office,” “Parks and Recreation”) is attached to direct and executive produce alongside Greenberg and Anthony Bregman and Jeff Stern of Likely Story.

The story centers George Elliot, a man who is burned out and facing an impasse in both his personal and professional life. When George undergoes a novel treatment to become a better person, he finds he’s been replaced by a new and improved George — revealing that his own worst enemy is himself and raising the question, do we really want to be better?

Ethan Hawke, Rose Byrne and Chris O’Dowd in talks for Juliet, Naked

According to Deadline, Ethan Hawke, Rose Byrne and Chris O’Dowd are to star in Juliet, Naked, an adaptation of British author Nick Hornby’s novel from director Jesse Peretz (My Idiot Brother) and screenwriters Tamara Jenkins (The Savages) and Jim Taylor (Sideways).

Published in 2009, Juliet, Naked has been compared to Hornby’s second novel High Fidelity and is described as “a heartwarming romantic comedy about love and life’s second chances and follows the story of long-suffering Annie (Byrne), her music obsessed boyfriend Duncan (O’Dowd), and music star Tucker Crowe (Hawke), the object of Duncan’s obsession.”

“Reminiscent of Bridget Jones, Juliet, Naked pairs Nick Hornby’s signature charm and humor, showcased in High Fidelity and About a Boy, with the incredible talent behind some of romantic comedy’s biggest successes,” said Thorsten Schumacher of Rocket Science.

Jesse Peretz Directing ‘Juliet, Naked’ for Judd Apatow
Our Idiot Brother” director Jesse Peretz will helm the independent romance “Juliet, Naked,” based on the novel by Nick Hornby.

“Juliet, Naked” centers on Annie, the long-suffering girlfriend of Duncan, and her unlikely transatlantic romance with once revered singer-songwriter Tucker Crowe, who also happens to be the subject of Duncan’s musical obsession.

Los Angeles Media Fund (Lamf) is financing the picture. Judd Apatow, and the team of Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, Barry Mendel and Jeffrey Soros are producing. Simon Horsman is an executive producer.

The script was written by Tamara Jenkins (‘The Savages”) and Jim Taylor (“Sideways, “About Schmidt”) with revisions by Phil Alden Robinson and Evgenia Peretz.

CAA and UTA set up “Juliet, Naked” and are co-repping the rights.

Jesse Peretz directed nine episodes of Lena Dunham’s “Girls” and five eps of Zooey Deschanel’s “New Girl.”

Jesse Peretz to direct 'Juliet, Naked'
The director of Our Idiot Brother will direct Juliet, Naked based on the Nick Hornby novel in a project backed by Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman’s fledgling producer-financier Los Angeles Media Fund (Lamf).

Judd Apatow, Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, Barry Mendel and Soros are the executive producers on the story of a woman who forms a long-distance romance with a singer whom her boyfriend idolises.

Tamara Jenkins and spouse Jim TaylorAlexander Payne’s screenwriting partner on films such as Sideways and About Schmidt – wrote the screenplay with revisions by Phil Alden Robinson and Evgenia Peretz.

Lamf was launched in September 2014 to make films across a range of genres budgeted up to $50m.

It is co-financing and co-producing with Stx The Space Between Us starring Gary Oldman, Asa Butterfield, Carla Gugino, and Britt Robertson, and supernatural horror The Bye Bye Man.

Lamf is also in post on the Jim Carrey-starrer True Crimes, which it co-produces

Marvel’s newest star, Paul Rudd, and British star Steve Coogan already starred opposite each other in 2011’s Our Idiot Brother, but this latest collaboration will see the pair united in marriage.

Coogan will play a famous celebrity, while Rudd will play his more reclusive, shy spouse. Their extravagant, public lifestyle places their relationship under considerable strain, which is amplified by the unexpected arrival of a young man claiming to be the grandson Coogan never realized he had. With his grandson in dire straits, with nowhere else to go, the couple agree to welcome him into their home, in the secret hope that his presence will heal the rifts forming in their marriage.

Paul Rudd (Ant-man, Anchorman 1 & 2) and Oscar nominee Steve Coogan (Philomena) are set to star in drama/comedy An Ideal Home written and directed by Andrew Fleming (Hamlet 2, The Craft).

In pre-production, Remstar Studios and National Bank of Canada are co- financing the film, which is being produced by Gabriella Tana (Philomena, The Duchess), Maria Theresa Arida (Arbitrage, City Island), Maxime Remillard and Aaron Ryder (Founder, Mud). Robert Kirkman’s Outcast TV Series Casting Update

On AMC, he ushered us into a world of the living dead and now he’s bringing us face-to-face with demons. Earlier this month we reported that the lead role had been cast in Robert Kirkman’s Outcast TV series, and that The Guest director Adam Wingard is set to helm the pilot. We now have additional casting news for the exorcism drama that will air on Cinemax, as four actors have now been added to the cast.

Deadline reports that Reg E. Cathey (American Psycho, Se7en), Julia Crockett (The Absence), Wrenn Schmidt (The Americans, Our Idiot Brother), and Kip Pardue (Hostel: Part III) have joined the ranks of Outcast.

The exorcism drama follows Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), “a young man who’s been plagued by possession since he was a child. He sets out to seek answers, only to uncover something that could end all life on Earth as we know it.
