In a movie about people who would stop aging at 25 years old, many of the actors, including Cillian Murphy and Justin Timberlake, were in their late 20s and early 30s. Amanda Seyfried, however, really was 25 years old during filming.
Justin Timberlake is three years older than Olivia Wilde who plays his mother.
The combination to open Philippe's time vault 12 2 18 09 is the date on which Charles Darwin was born, 12th February 1809. This is also the date on which Abraham Lincoln was born.
Many of the character names are those of famous, and not so famous, watchmakers. The name Weis is pronounced the same as the watchmaker Albert Wajs.
The car Will buys for 59 years is a 1969 Jaguar XK-E convertible.
The film takes place in 2169.
According to Timberlake and Seyfried, there is more running in this film than any other movies they have ever seen except for Run Lola Run (1998) and Forrest Gump (1994).
The time format of the clocks is YYYY.WW.D.HH.MM.SS (years, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds, respectively). Not months and days, as one would expect.
Sci-fi writer Harlan Ellison launched a lawsuit against New Regency and director Andrew Niccol, claiming that the film's plot bore an uncanny similarity to his short story "Repent Harlequin! Said the Ticktockman". Initially, Ellison was seeking an injunction against the film's release, which he then watered down to a request for onscreen credit. Ultimately the case was dropped with no money exchanging hands between any of the parties.
The oldest car in the film is a 1961 Lincoln Continental, often referred to as the "suicide doors" car, the same type President John F. Kennedy was riding in when he was assassinated.
Working titles included "Now" and "I'm.mortal".
This is Andrew Niccol's third science fiction noir following Gattaca (1997) and S1m0ne (2002).
Each day, the Timekeepers are transferred a stipend of time from headquarters. This payment is called a "per diem." In Latin, "per diem" means "for each day."
The bus driver who refuses Rachel a ride, is the same one that Will Salas later bribes him into giving him and Sylvia a ride.
Alex Pettyfer and Matt Bomer also appeared together in Magic Mike (2012).
The map in Timekeeper HQ shows the lat/long coordinates of 33.9935 degrees N, 118.229(4)... Some can reasonably argue that it shows -118, but there would be no need for that if the W were included. The audience cannot see this, of course - it is off the display.

The stated coordinates place the location as Vernon, CA. If one looks at the map in the movie, this corresponds to Time Zone 12 (i.e. Dayton).

If one compares this map to a real-world map, one will also see that the shape of the depicted map corresponds nearly precisely to the real-world California coastline south and west of Los Angeles. Thus, Time Zone 4, that of New Greenwich, would be the Hollywood-Beverly Hills-Santa Monica corridor.

Note also that later in the film, Philippe Weis appears to only be in charge of Global Time Zone 16 out of 24 Global Time Zones.
