Raw usually does deliver when in Canada!
24 May 2010 | by (victoria b.c canada) – See all my reviews

Bret Hart is to a huge pop from the Canadian crowd. He says it's important for him to be remembered the right way, and therefore he's gonna do things the right way and not wrestle. Chris Jericho is out to a decent pop. Chris asks why Bret came back to WWE in the 1st place, and that he can try to fool the fans, but the truth is he is a shell of his former self. He used to be the greatest, but now he's nothing more than a pathetic has-been, tarnishing his legendary status. He says Bret doesn't care about closure, he's nothing more than an ego-driven phony, and it's the same reason he was screwed in Montreal, he deserved it. Bret is surprised he's called him a phony because in the dungeon he was always slacking. Chris says he has become the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. He says he just had to hear these parasites chant his name one more time, and it must be a terrible feeling to see what Bret has become. "We want Bret" chant starts. Jericho says his father would be ashamed of him, and Chris starts to leave, but Bret stops him and tells him to tell Miz to get his wrestling boots ready. Jericho says he can't fool him, he'll get disqualified so he can at least say he tried. Bret says he'll be United States Champion and The Hart Dynasty will wipe them out, so they can put that in his pipe and smoke it. Very solid segment, Bret delivered tonight and Chris was on the top of his game.

Edge is out to a big time pop. Edge names off all the Celebs Randy has RKOE'D........GO!. Christian is out to a nice pop as well.

Edge Vs Christian. Loud dueling "Let's go Edge, Let's go Christian chants". It started off a little awkward, like they were feeling each other out, but in the end it became classical. This was such a pure joy to watch, and a real treat for the die-hard fans of E&C. Edge wins with the spear. Afterwords Randy Orton appears on the titantron and asks why Christian is out there, because that's not who he picked...DONG!. Edge Vs The Undertaker. Edge gets counted out like, but Christian throws him back in and Edge gets choke slammed for his troubles

5/5

Apparently Maryse plugged Trish's magazine, I didn't see it though.

Batista Vs Mark Henry. Henry gets attacked before the match starts, so it's officially a dud in my books.

0/5

Ted Dibiase/W Virgil. Vs Yoshi Tatsu. Virgil is back!!! Oh my god, I seriously can't believe how cool that is. Match itself is OK, solid but nothing overly special, but it's cool to see Ted carry on his Father's tradition.

2/5

United States Championship.

The Miz|C| Vs Bret Hart. BIG pop for Bret. Miz says he doesn't trust Bret, so he hired some goons. Here come Kozlov and Regal. The Hart Dynasty capitalize and help out though, interfering and helping Bret win the title, leading the crowd to go ape*sht. Nice moment for Bret's fans, cool to see, but I don't know if it was the right way to go.

2/5

LayCool&Maryse Vs Eve&The Bellas. Maryse is out to a big time pop. McCool has a belt too? Give me a break. Total crap from start to finish, but that's to be expected. Maryse wins with the French Kiss.

DUD.

As much as I admire John Cena, his typical I will not quit promo is quite tiresome here. He does his same old thing basically, no point in me recapping.

1/5

Randy Orton Vs Jack Swagger. Nice pop for Orton. Big RKO chants throughout the match. It's OK, but not up to their one on Raw a few weeks ago. Edge coming out was a nice touch, and he got some nice heat for his spear.

2/5

Buzz Aldrin comes out looking drunk out of his mind and boring me and the crowd in the process. I didn't really pay much attention to be honest.

Evan Bourne/W Gail Vs Zack Ryder/W Alicia Fox. Too short to matter, both guys aren't gonna amount to anything anyways. Bourne and Gail win.

1/5

Sheamus Vs John Cena. Not bad, but really Meh when you think about it. It was solidly done, but I didn't really care in the whole scheme of things. Batista interferes and this one is done to a no contest. Batista performs a sloppy submission after it's over.

2 1/2 /5

Bottom line. Above average tonight to be sure, the wacky fellow Canadian crowds are always fun, and the storyline's were not too bad tonight.

7/10
