The number 27 shows up a lot in the history of this story. The bus number was 27, there were a total of 27 occupants on the bus. The last two engine block serial numbers were 27. The driver of the wrecker, Mr. Horn was born in 1927. The last child found was 72 days later or a reverse of 27.
