Storyline

At the convenience shop where he always stops during his morning jog, Deeks is shot. While he pulls trough surgery, Eric taps security cameras which prove it was a deliberate attempt on him and identifies the culprits. While Kensi guards Deeks' sickbed, the office goes trough a long list of criminals probably holding a grudge, including Deeks's mysteriously secret next of kin. Callen and Sam pursue the violent duo's Mustang, kill one of them in a fire-exchange and set a trap for the presumed boss, a lawyer whose carefully anonymous hiring method is no match for Eric. Furthermore, LAPD Detective Jeff Versey, who eagerly handed over the case to NCIS, was nearly fired in a substance-abuse context because of clean Deek.
