Best Chuck episode
jacobstevenmillen21 May 2020
This has been a great season of Chuck. I do have to say though, I felt that the two episodes before this were a bit weak, even if they did have some cool moments, but this final episode is where everything really paid off. Also the writing and the editing was really clear and well done in this episode, which I think is what the prior two episodes lacked somewhat. Everything comes to a really great close in this episode. Also, to the person who said it was "rushed", I think you may have missed the first part of the two part finale, "Chuck vs the Subway". Anyways, it was a really cool episode, and it truly felt like a culmination of everything leading up to it, both stylistically and story -wise. In other words, this episode perfectly captures the essence of the show (the action, the lightheartedness, the darker conflicts, etc.). 10/10

Best Finale Ever
mcnairstuart829 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the best finale's i have ever seen filled with twists and turns and leading to a epic conclusion and a nail biting cliff hanger. This finale had me on the edge of my seat it was that intense.

So chuck has lost all hope after Daniel shaw killed his father but luckily Ellie Devon and Morgan are coming to the rescue as Ellie follow the van thats holding chuck Sarah and Casey Morgan and Devon come up with a plan but then realise they are in Casey's car which is bound to have weapons they then accidentally fire a rocket which flips the van and knocks shaw unconscious leaving Devon and Morgan to help chuck Sarah and Casey escape after that Ellie agrees that chuck can take down Daniel shaw but only if he promises to quit the spy life after doing so chuck agrees and the gang find out shaw is holding a conference with a group known as the elders (highly trained assassins) when chuck calls him telling them that his team are there he alerts the elders which in turn lets the team find out who the elders are and capture them. As shaw confronts chuck he confesses to chuck his real motives but what he doesn't know is that hes being filmed and has told the whole of the CIA and FBI. Shaw then escapes and turns up days later at the buy more where he plants explosive which he plans to use he informs Sarah that he wants to see chuck but (who has collapsed from the pain caused by the intersect) can not come so Sarah turns up but gets handcuffed to the desk. The fire alarm gets pulled which makes everyone run from the store the alarm also wakes chuck up who sees shaw taking Sarah prisoner chuck turns up at the buy more to save Sarah but chuck cannot control the intersect without the governor (which shaw has) so he struggles to fight shaw he then recollects his childhood which triggers the intersect to reboot and helps chuck defeat shaw. After defeating shaw everybody starts searching for the detonator for the bombs in the buy more Morgan finds but accidentally drops it which detonates it blowing the buy more up luckily everyone survived. Chuck receives a message from his father which was sent because he died the message basically explains that his dad only became a spy to find chucks mom which leads to the beginning of season 4.

Great end to a solid season
neil-walker-safc2 July 2020
A superb episode (or double episode as it's normally shown seamlessly with the previous episode).

The team, nsa and via are infiltrated and are being shut down from within, chuck's condition is worsening, and Buy More may be in trouble.

This finale closes most loose ends.

If you were tempted to end at episode 13, but continued, then stopping here might not answer all your questions, but it will give you a far better, and fulfilling end than season 5.

The closer you get to season 5, the harder it will become to stop. So consider leaving chuck on a high and only watch the remainder if the fabled movie or mini series appears 😁

From a personal point of view I know I wish season 5 finale never happened.

Disapointing premise
jcramer-5223721 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The issues with the Intersect in Chuck's head is supposed to drive him insane slowly. We watch him degrade to the point of non-functionality. In a prior episode, his father makes an external regulator - how something on your wrist would help regulate brain functionality is only the start of the cracking in the suspension of disbelief.

During the build up to this episode Chuck continues to have more and more problems with the intersect to the point where he is rendered usless, when the writers feel like it, for several hours at a time. The only thing that can help him is the external regulartor (the govenor). Yet in the final good vs bad climax sceen a child hood memory is enough to "fix" Chuck. It is like watching super hero movies where the super hereo some how magically dominates their enimey at the end of the show.

Rushed

I don't really understand why it is this way. I watched this on netflix and it felt really rushed. I seemed to miss important parts of the story and what should have been an epic final seemed like a quick way to get rid of story. Then, all of a sudden it was over. Without spoiling anything, in the end there was another reveal (no not the very last reveal) that felt like it missed context. Now I'm here on IMDb and I see this episode is supposed to be 86 minutes. Why, for god's sake, would netflix stream the short version of a season finale? It makes no sense at all and it completely destroyed the whole episode. This is such a huge bummer.
