Looking For These?....A Bronx Vampire Tale (CONTAINS SPOILERS)
horrorcoffee22 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Independent films are good. Independent horror films are better. Arnold Acavedo has caught the vampire genre in a South Bronx, urban aura. Filled in comedic elements and a couple of jump scare moments, this movie is a must see for those who appreciate short scares. It starts at a bar in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, where a comedian just finished his little gig looking for a little action. Without giving too much away he ends up getting a lot more than he bargained for. One thing I found interesting was the quote at the beginning of the film from one of those "lost" gospels regarding Mary Magdelene. If any lady in human history has picked up a controversial rep it was her, and this is made quite clear in this film. Many young men get the idea that they can get any lady they want, whether it's short term (which it usually is) or long term, thats been the way of it for centuries. Men with talent have a special affinity to being quite over confident in their so called conquests. Our main character in Looking For These learns quite quickly how the tables can turn regarding the latino male pride of over confidence and superiority over women. I would even suggest that this film actually can open itself up to a sequel. After all, with all of these comedians missing I'm sure we can produce a hero who can look into the mystery surrounding them. As a film critic from

I give this film 3 1/2 coffee cups for creativity. If you like vampire stories, seduction, pretty ladies and comedic elements wrapped around some good old fashioned horror, watch "Looking For These". Sink your teeth in.
