Storyline
Homer becomes obsessed with "Thicker than Waters," a 1980s family sitcom written by David Mamet, and models his parenting skills after the show's sensible father much to the chagrin of Bart, who desperately sets his sights on a brand new dirt bike. But when Homer insists that Bart must earn the dirt bike, Bart takes matters into his own hands and schemes with Russian and Chinese spies to provide top-secret information in exchange for the new bike. Later, James Lipton conducts an interview with a television cast on "Inside the Actor's Studio." Written by

Homer The Father is a terrific Simpsons episode showing Homer and Bart becoming close and with a well thought out storyline.
Homer becomes obsessed with an old eighty's sitcom called Thicker Than Waters which teaches Homer to be a better father and he decides to stop strangling Bart and just use his mouth when hes angry,which brings the two closer.
Meanwhile Bart really wants to get an expensive new bike but Homer says that he wont get him it until he starts acting better.Bart starts working for Chinese people to steal nuclear power from the plant so that they will pay Bart enough money so he can get that bike.
