Did You Know?

In pre-production, Al Simon (show producer) asked the production designer Hub Braden to bring in some set illustrations for Lorenzo and Henrietta, to help them visualize what their show would look like! After this presentation, Henrietta stopped Hub in the office hallway, asking, "are the sets going to be that vivid in color?" In reply, Braden assured Henrietta, "the colors used in the sketches were from a pallet of 'neon colored' markers! No, the sets would be neutral beige with set lighting used to paint the scenery with a hint of color." For the first, and only production meeting for the series, Braden distributed black and white xeroxed pamphlets of the stage set plans, with cartoon set sketch illustrations for each sketch and production number. With each packet, a box of colored crayons was given to each person present. After the lengthy meeting, Al Simon said to Braden "Henrietta and Lorenzo never got the joke, did they! And they are OUR comedy team!" See more »
