Storyline

Brenda's interview with the Mayor for the Chief position is scheduled for the next day and she is having serious doubts about whether she really wants the job. When a murder comes along, she tries to use it as an excuse to postpone the interview but those around her have other things in mind. As for the murder, the victim is Judy Lynn, a D-list celebrity who has made a name for herself through her video blog where she documents her daily life. He last entry was that she was going out on a date - her first in 2 years - with someone she hooked up with on an Internet dating site. They quickly track down the man and all of the evidence points to him as the culprit but the solution lies elsewhere. Written by garykmcd

Quotes

[about the interview with the mayor to become Chief of Police]
Captain Sharon Raydor: Chief, if you don't at least attend this final interview, the women of the LAPD will be completely demoralized, and many of them will never forgive you. Ever.
Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson: Well can I just skip the whole prep part? I'll just go in there and be myself.
Captain Sharon Raydor: That is a *terrible* idea.

characters were really good
7 September 2010 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Rhea Seehorn was really great in this episode and I want to see her in other work. I really liked her ability to seem innocent but still strong and sincere and super cute without being gross and cheap. OK....I'm off to see what else Rhea is in. The Closer always brings on good talent and that is what makes this show so dependable. They are so well rounded with a great cast and of course super direction and writing. Kyra always has a particular way of being strong but yet accessible. I think the character (Judy Lynn) that Rhea Seehorn was playing also had those elements of being strong but still there was a very obvious heart that was there.
